OK thanks.
But I now have a new problem . After checking the throttle body with my Aeroforce gauge I found that it will not communicate. So thinking it's the gauge I hooked up Das....same thing no communication but does have power going to it. I can not link in to read the PCM. Anyone run into that?

Throttle body is stock.
I can not even link up the the ECU. There is power at the DLC so its something else. I will look at fuses but I think that will not be it.

Well I can get in with my snap on scanner but not with the Das or Aero force still.. What could I have done? All I did was check the throttle blade for wide open activation and all was good.

Does anybody know if it's possible to prevent the shift buttons on the steering wheel from being active unless manual mode is selected for the trans?
Currently if my car is being driven in S or C mode and the driver taps one of the shift buttons, the car will go to manual mode.
I'd like to have to consciously select M mode on the console before the buttons do anything.
Why? If my GF drives the car and isn't aware of this feature, it's possible she will bump a button on the wheel and be driving around in 2nd or 3rd without realizing.
I thought I had read that the early 03 cars operated in this way, but I may be mistaken.
THANKS.

Lol this has been my concern once as well.. I think it was on the newer vehicles where the buttons work in any mode. My is an 05.my friend had an 03 e55 and his buttons only worked in manual mode, no other. Must be a coding somewhere then I guess.

Hi all,
Does anyone knows how to turn off the "Maximum speed exceeded" warning ? Everytime I pass 120km/H i get that warning and it disables steering controls buttons.
Also how to activiate the rear view camera ? I got a 2005 E class. And it has in the Euro/Gulf navi ..
Thanks.

Finished up getting my car hooked up to a MacBook Air partitioned with Windows 10 on one side, using a USB Ron seril adapter. The connection to Xentry is flatly but works, the trick I found was to go into the Com port property and change flow control from none to hardware, the speeds didn’t seem to change anything, I also added a virtual serial connection.
at the load up screen it shows I have no serial cable connected but I’m able to launch and connect to Xentry. I hope this post helps others, I couldn’t find much info out there and just sat in the car playing around with settings until I was able to talk to the car. I bought a multiplexer from eBay, and the seril adpater from amazon. The software cane from a member here who helped me install it on my laptop. In the end it might have been smarter to send him a USB flash drive to load up the software because it’s a big file and didn’t work out the first time. We ended up having to download angain.
angow; if anyone wants to build a system out of a MacBook I can probably help out a little with boot camp, and how bootcamp doesn’t seem to see the windows side and vis versa, my older iMac works fine but the newer software didn’t see each other and I deked and tried again 4 times until I found out how to force the laptop to see both sides.
I an am still not seeing how to lower the car and keep it like that, but I’m installing headers, and replacing engine mounts so I’ll do that later.

You will need to have a copy of Windows partitionl on the machine, then you will need the software, and the cables/box to talk to the car. The connection is flaky, but once you get the green light it will connect to the car and stay connected. I'm usually changing baut rates or enabling and disabling the serial connection and it works again. I have the same issues at work with a virtual windows on a mac pro, the macs don't seem to like a older connection and the usb to serial connection in xentry takes a few minutes paying with it.
Like I said; once connected there are no issues during that session, but every time I pull out the mac and connect to car it has the same problem. If you're ok with the issue then you will need the multiplexor from ebay. Anyone that does with cables will work, you will also need a USB to serial adapter and then the software. I got my image from a member here who loaded it onto my machine and showed me the basics for a fee. If you need his contact I can forward it in a PM. My copy is the developer version if that matters to you. All said and done I found out new macs hide the partition and holding the option key while booting will show you all the partitions. I probably only saved $400 in the end but I get to use my mac instead of a PC/Laptop that only gets used for xentry/star. These are the 2 things I bought and they work.

The guy helping me out had the C3 setup and if I remember correctly he had the best luck getting that to work. The C4 and C5 wasn't supported or didn't work with his developer software. The cost of his setup wasn't much more than the $110. It was either $150 or $200 for him to set it up on my windows partition. We set up a netmeeting and I gave him access to the windows side so he could do his thing. Only hicup was trying to download the software from his link which seemed to fail so the netmeeting was setup. Then afterwards I had to play with teh serial connection on the virtual and non-virtual side until xentry gave the green light and I was able to connect.
