Someone willing to break things goes far and learns much. Most people are afraid to even buy a mercedes. That mindset runs much deeper than cars, It's a game changer for your whole life.

I'm quite happy to break your things, as long as I don't have to pay to fix them.

I was playing with my Instrument Cluster settings (to change from Japan to ROW etc. etc.) everything seems OK now but my cluster is not showing the cruise control information anymore. I mean the cruise control is working but it's not showing the "cruise control" message nor the dotted ring around the speedo.

Does anybody know which setting could alter it?

What settings did you go to? I know the "DTR Distronic" option will remove it in the manual set-up. It needs to be set to "Present" even if you don't have distronic, it set to "Not Present" it does what you are describing. I'm not sure if there is another way to access it though other than the manual set-up which I wouldn't recommend playing in unless you know what you're doing. You can definitely mess up more stuff.

Thanks man I'd probably never guess it.

I'm still a bit new to DAS (and Mercedes) and somehow I started a procedure which went thru all of the settings one by one. I thought I know what I was doing so I did continue but I don't have the Distronic

No worries, hopefully that gets it squared away for you.

Yes it did. Thank you once again.

There's another thing which popped up today but I don't know if it's even DAS related... I was playing a bit and when I drove out of garage is seems that my xenon headlights are stuck in hi-beam position. The light selector is working (extra H7 hi beam headlights are going on/off when swithing) but the xenon hi/lo "shutters" are open all time. Strange..... but it's hard to believe that both got stuck open at one time...

Oh yeah... And one another thing... when I had my cluster set to Japan I was able to swith on/off automatic clock adjustment (from navi/radio unit) and after switching it off I could set the time myself. Now (IC set to ROW) there's no such option and my clock is always going automatically off by a few hours...

Then code your cluster properly and it will work again.

And do you know how to do it properly? I mean to have the cluster in ROW (no strange fuel consuption units like in Japan) and to have the possibility to adjust the clock manually.

Yes I do. All of my US spec cars are completely RoW coded.

Oh really? Sh*t that would explain a lot. Thanks man. Where've you been for my whole life?

I thought this is the place for learning... not for telling people how great you are.

**** you came on and telling me how great I am not me. I have no reason to do so. You used your ****ing passive aggression, not me.

Just go back and cry about your cluster until someone spoon feeds you the answer you want to get without doing the work yourself. Just don’t cry if it’s wrong. Could happen with the vast amount of SD experts here on this thread and this forum. Millennial by any chance? Sounds like it. Good luck. Wish I could block you here.

All day long or even longer. As long as I will feed you I think as that was the reason of your first post. Why did you write it then? What for? If not to prove how stupid I am. I also feel that knowing a lot about Mercedes you don't really know much about aggression.

Most probably mods should clean this thread a bit now

A little update. The lights started to work normally on their own today. Dont know why dont know how. I was replacing the main battery yesterday (and fitting new negative clamp) maybe that was the reason. Anyway nothing related to any coding. I just hope the problem will not show up anymore.

I did this to remove that irritating key reminder chime.

Check your voltage regulator. We had flickering lights inside and outside. Replaced the battery which was 15 years old and still the first one. It was better for a week then it started again. New voltage regulator and the flickering is gone for a year now.

Cheers. I'll definitely take a look at that. Was supposed to get there anyway. It's my third month of ownership and I'm slowly getting thru all of it. Heared that wrapping the exhaust manifold near the alternator can actually save the regulator. Will try that too.

2014 - W212 - E400 ( M276.820, 3 liter Turbo) RWD not Hybrid
Hi Xentry Experts ....

Can I ask a question please. Thank you in advance.

Is there a way, or menu, in the MB Xentry, where I can disable the driver seat completely , like it does not exist ? The N32/1 control module that is.
I want to place 1 , yes only 1, Recaro Sporter for driver side, which in my case it is the right side for a right hand drive car.

The seat occupany/seat mat I can use emulator to fool the SRS system. Hopefully it will work and I seen 3rd party tools called Abrites able to code-away the seat mat.

I been reading my eBay WIS/EPC and googling, I summarize the main obstacle if the seat is not coded-away ( is there such a term ? )....
would be the Body error code which relates to the hall sensors of the seat and maybe also the steering column hall sensors due to my car option 275 memory seat .

I managed to get a W210 seat troubleshooting document ( attached ), but there is no equivalent one for W212 .

ADD: The recaro is for the W212 2014 E400 RWD.

Again, thank you so much.

SCN coding in Boston ?

Any one doing STAR coding near Boston ?

Im trying to reprogram my rear SAM to activate Euro spec taillights on my C292. I’m pretty sure that the VDOK needs to be changed from USA to ROW to access the option in DAS. Then VDOK has to be switched back at the end. I’ve been told that only the dealers can change the VDOK. Anyone been down this road?

No VeDoc hacking needed. Can all be done offline.
