Supercharger internal upgrades

Does anyone know about modding the supercharger internals on 55K cars? For example an upgrade package with modified veins or any other design enhancements relative to the stock supercharger internals design to acheive greater power/torque/efficiencies etc...?

Has this been done, is something like this available and if so where?

Feed it with a rear mounted turbo and that will really help upgrade the S/C ..

It's only a matter of time before people start upgrading the superchargers...when that happens, the game will change.

The reason I ask is because I had a conversation with a guy at a Business Networking event Tues evening who had an '04 SL55, similar to mine...he told me about his mods and got me in contact with his guy who did all the work on his car...that individual told me about a SC internals upgrade that he claims they had done...the upgrade (parts from what I understand) are from some outfit in Germany.

I am still investigating and evaluation this...no solid information to provide yet...

Please do alot of research before pulling the trigger. I was once offered this "upgrade" as well and it was just a scam by a con artist

Do you mean...(1) get a turbo car (2) replace SC with turbos or (3) use a rear mount turbo to feed the SC?

I spoke to Whipple, and they think they can do it. I really think the weakness in this blower is the rear bearings. Contact Whipple, You wont be the first one, and it may just show there is an interest if upgrading the AMG SC.

I work with most of the blower companies out there. It definitely is a possibility. Their problem is they need a tuning solution that currently is not available yet to to do so.

Lets say that it can be done (i.e by Whipple or whomever) and the rear bearing is modified as well as the vein design etc...then couldn't the tuning issue be handled by a custom dyno tune (figure most of the customers who would get this done have other mods and have probably gotton or are running a custom tune anyway)? Granted this limits the market because of the lack of a standard or canned tune for this modification.

Just an FYI...Most supercharger companies do not want to sell a tuner kit without a programmer with a preconfigured tune made by them. I work with Whipple, Paxton (used to work there), ATI, Magnuson, STS, Vortech on their tuning solutions. All I can say is my E55 was tuned with custom tuning software that are along the same lines.. :-)

Two bb 67mm turbos would be stellar on the K55 engine.

interesting info. Also - your E55 is tuned by DiabloSport? Are you the only one? Is it with their handheld programmer?

I've had my blower ported by: http://www.stiegemeier.com/porting.html but mine is a Magnuson MP112

I contacted the company for another project a few months ago and Bob (the owner) mentioned that someone was sending him an AMG blower to be ported.

Does anyone know anything about this? Would love to hear about their experience.

there are several C32s with ported blowers. two or three i believe. one for sure is a Stiegemeier job. not sure of the other two, but i think they might be as well

I don't see why not.
Unfortunately I did one or two other upgrades simultaneously with the porting and cannot post solid data regarding the porting benefits.
Just figured I'd throw it out there for those who might be interested.

if you port your supercharger, you will make it a little more efficient. however, in doing so, you will lower your boost and lose some power. you need to adjust pulley sizes accordingly to regain power and then some
