Car Magazine Results: E63 Faster Than Panamera Turbo, CTS-V etc
On the racetrack, with the same professional driver driving all the cars, it was faster around the course than the Mitsubishi EVO X FQ-400, Porsche Panamera Turbo, Porsche Cayman S, Audi TT RS, Nissan 370Z, Cadillac CTS-V, Audi S4, Jaguar S4, etc.
The E63 AMG did not win the award overall, but got down to their final 5, beating all the other cars in its class. They said about the E63, “The way such a heavy car stops, steers and flows on track is hugely impressive. It’s almost as laser-guided as the four-wheel drive Evo, Panamera, and S4, yet as laughably exuberant as the Caddy or Jag. And faster than every single one of them.”
Its nice to see some independant testing confirming our seat-of-the-pants impressions on the improved handling of the 2010 E63.

Great to hear the reviews, AMG made great strides it sounds in making a fun driver's car rather than just a monster power sedan (which it still retains).

That said, can't believe it went around a track...any track except a nascar bowl...quicker than a Mitsubishi Evo FQ400...

Its impressive that the E63 even came close to these much-sportier cars, much less beat them on the racetrack.
Anyone else get Pre-Safe kicking in on them on the track?
Also, the P30 E63 can hold speed with the C63 through the turns. Once on the straight the E63 pulls the C63 due to the 60HP difference.

In the Evo Car Of The Year feature it was the same thing - Evo didn't bother bringing the E63 because they had the XFR.
