How do you remove the chrome peice on the trunk above the rear lic plate?

How do you remove the chrome peice on the trunk above the rear lic plate?
I want to get mine painted and wasnt sure on the best way of removing it. I circled the part in question. Thanks in advance.

remove inner trunk lid trim and you'll find a few bolts holding it on think there is a couple on the outside by number plate lights too iirc. Jon

I removed mine and there were no bolts.Theres two side sticky tape and some pushin clips.U might have to pry it off and cut the tape as you pry.

Are you going o cover it in the 3m CF flim like your grill. It would look nice.

Well I got off the rear panel ( its very easy to do) But how do you get the Chrome piece off of the trunk panel???

Ok well if anyone wants to remove that chrome piece to get painted you dont have to remove the rear trunk panel all you have to do is get a heat gun and heat up the strip and on the bottom left side of the strip there is a lil section with a gap so you can insert some thing to pry the strip off.
