LET tune Dyno results, WOW!

I bought my E55 5-6 months ago. I came to the forums looking for direction on what to do to the car. I got word of LET and the custom tunes they do for our cars. At first I thought it was all bull. There's no way a simple 5 minute tune can get the gains that the Eurocharged/LET guys were claiming. Well, I had a chance to dyno today and the results speak for themselves. To you guys that know this stuff what would you say about +20 RWHP and +25-30 RWTQ? And to you guys that are in limbo mode, go for it, its the real deal! I never dynoed stock but for comparison reasons you can find those numbers all over the place. Anyway, thanks Jerry and LET, best $ I've spent on the car so far!!

Ya my Brother in law had to drive all the way there to get a tune for his supercharged SRT10 and he mentioned someone who worked there had a E55. guess its not you. Do you have plans for a pulley in the near future?

Jerry tune=good

Pulley+HE+upgraded waterpump+Jerry tune=great

Pulley+HE+upgraded waterpump+TB+Headers+Jerry tune=best money you'll spend on the car.

I did the math. Just sayin'

you gained that kind of power from the tune alone? no pulley or anything?

I think we met there that day. I had the silver e55 and we confirmed that I had the latest tune. Your boy in Malibu tuned my car...

Or, since you don't have a baseline dyno, maybe you have a strong stock car and the tune added nothing...

Cats are still in. Resonator was replaced with an x pipe and then just straight 3in to the Eisenmann mufflers.

Well I'm not launching on a Ferrari or anything but you do fell a stronger pull. Its perfect. I'm not a track guy, I don't race my car. This is my work/leisure ride so I think the way I have it now is perfect. The truth is, even now the E55 is becoming a vintage of sorts. With a ll the new beasts coming from the Germans I wanted to keep my 55 as close to stock as possible. I see all over the map guys getting killed trying to sell fully modded cars. For ME, in my little thread, the tune is all you need.

Well said dude but i used to think the same way and now . but if you have not been to the track, keep it that way otherwise that modding syndrome will get you...Boost does that to people!

by the way which wheels did you decide on?

Part of the reason I was asking - you're driving brief is very similar to mine - so I was curious whether to go tune by itself (and will I notice the difference?) or go pulley and tune (which I hear is a guarantee to notice a difference). Is the stronger pull from up top, down low, all over. Only reason for so many questions is LET is coming to VA in January and want to take advantage of this.

Thanks.

I'm keeping it until either it, or I dies (I seriously love this car and engine - purposely chose it over the 63). I'm very interested in the TT but I REALLY don't like the back end (I'm hoping it grows on me so in couple of years I can pick one up used again). If it doesn't grow on me TT Estate baby! (for whatever reason - I think the back end looks good on the wagon)

I really like that power curve!!! I know I am in the minority here but the E55 has too much torque as it is on the low end. Add a pulley and things just get worse. IMHO if you add headers to help top end flow that would be the ideal setup.

^ nice - the ability to drop almost mid 1's 60ft times really is too much torque.

I quess I am in the minority here when I say that. At this age I like better balance in cars. Off the line in the city the car does nothing but spin the tires. Having the abilty to put the power down better (ie less bottom end tq) is something I consider desireable. If I could I would flop the torque curve for more top end HP.

I had a 600x600 Porsche 993tt. That car was a blast to drive but spun all 4 tires through 4th and did not settle down till 5th. On the track it was a handful. I now have another 993 that puts out 450hp400tq. The torque is a lot smoother and as a result I am faster on the track because of the way it puts the power down.

Different strokes for different folks.

I understand what you're saying about useful torque, but IMO, that's the beauty of this car. I never have that feeling of "I wish the car pulls a bit harder", as I can control how much power I want all the way to the tires breaking loose without any driveline shock induced spin.

My previous M3, although only quick for these car standards, it was still fun, but I always felt that I needed to put the car past 6500 rpm to start pulling on anything with over 200hp. The 55K is instant, at any RPM

I hated the M3 for the same reason. Mine even had a Dinan SC. Because it was a centrifical type you still had to ring it out.

Torque ON DEMAND. Drive hard with Traction Control off and you really feel what a pig of a car the E55 is. Modded or bone stock, its spectacular. .
