Famoso is far for us in SoCal too. It's closer than Sac. though.
People in NorCal should do Sac. People in SoCal should do Famoso (which is still like 2 hours away).

There are no other good tracks in SoCal but all you hear from the police is "take it to the track". What a load of BS.

Well, I think it is a matter of perspective.

Sacramento is too far.. for you. I'm in SoCal, I don't consider it too far. The drive really is not that bad. You definitely have to have the dedication to make the trip, up to the individual.

Famoso is not far, especially for someone in Woodland Hills, 405 to the 5... up the grapevine and you are practically there. I would like a track in my backyard too

There are NorCal people who will make the trip to Famoso and Socal people who will make the trip to Norcal. To some, it is about more than simply distance and there is a small group that goes out of their way no matter the location. No reason to let a manageable distance keep enthusiasts apart from events.

No, there are no good tracks in SoCal, but Famoso is the best we have.

Like I said last time, I wasn't kidding that an alternative track needs to be built, ASAP.

Unfortunately, family obligations would prevent any drag racing this Saturday for me. They have this crazy notion that I should spend time with them during the holidays instead of play with my car

Trust me, I would rather have a 10 second slip than gifts or eggnog, but they think I'm crazy enough as is. We'll get out there soon enough and after Famoso I'll be down for a Sacramento run before the negative DA is gone.
I hear ya on the family thing. I wish I was going to LA with the wife and kids but work is really kicking my butt this year....a good thing though. I usually take 2 weeks off during this time but not this year .

If I get someone else to go I'll probably head up and see what she could do. Hopefully Josh and Mo will make but if not totally understandable.

Your 10 second pass will come sooner then you think so spend time with the family and enjoy your holiday.

You missed the wrestling match yesterday between Sticky and TheRicker..... Sticky got banned 9 times in one hour It all took place in Rick's "Dyno Numbers" thread at 1:00 am last night, but the mods temporarily removed the thread then deleted the comments from both parties, then brought it back up.

Haha that's what I thought at first but it's sticky that got banned a couple times. His new name is fitting, unless it's been banned already.

Most likely, I want to see 11.3 for a stage 2 before I add the TB the first week of Jan. Alan will not be joining us, he's a sell out!

Just a small correction here..... although DA may get to -2200 ft at Sacramento, it won't be that low at Sacramento Raceway. The track is surrounded by fields and a very high humidity area, which kills DA a little. For example, when dragtimes showed DA was -600 ft last time we ran out there, the DA measured at the track was actually +140 ft. The online websites use weather data that maybe as far as 5 miles out.

Having said that..... anything close to zero DA in California is a miracle

So who exactly is going up there this weekend?

Actually I believe Alan is using the data from the air base which is one or two miles away and they have a full weather station you can look up online. We were informed of this not to long ago, so I hope that is what he is using now, but agreed anything close to zero makes me happy!

I thought he used smokemup's website. But even 2 or 3 miles can vary a lot as we saw last time we were out. Collecting data on-site and on the track is best way

So Mike, are you going up there this weekend

He does but the track told us about the air base right there and how you can use it as well so I'm curious if it's closer, -2200 gives me a lot of hope in not being off by more than a couple hundred....it would be 11.2s for a stage 1.5/2. I'm going that's for sure I'll be 18 miles from the track tomorrow waiting! Gas is in the cans, tires will be uploaded shortly!

Good luck this weekend. I'll be going on Jan 2nd weather permitting. Should be 10 degrees cooler than this weekend.

-2200 DA. Something isn't right there unless you are looking at DA from 2AM??? Good luck getting traction at 30 degrees Fahrenheit ;-)
