Yeah, so I must think I'm Sun (aka Benzoboi) or something, because this is the 5th set of wheels since May 2008. This has got to be an addiction or something!!!
So while all of my previous sets I had ever done on any of my projects had been with a regular rolled lip, I decided to get a set of wheels with step lips this time. There are only two step lipped wheels that I can say look good on a W211, or in general even: The classic BBS LM, and the HRE competition series. I have to give credit where credit is due, and these two hit it the nail on its head.
However, there's another player that is gonna share the podium with these two heavy hitters, and it's a brand that I have been pushing to the forefront of the Mercedes community as of late, because it's a brand I believe in. I wouldn't do so if it was some bunk heavy brittle wheels.
We're talking about Forgestar wheels of course. You've all seen my prior F14's, which have now been made for more E55's than any other Mercedes out there.
And while I loved the 19's for a variety of reasons, I love me some 20's for just as many more reasons. Primarily, aesthetically speaking, 20's are just awesome. But they can look too big with the wrong design. With this step lip design, the face itself is only 19" large. 2nd, being flow formed, it's a lightweight and super strong construction that outperforms its cast made competition, and closes the gap tightly onto the forged build method, all the while maintaining a price at, or LESS than cast offerings.
Alright, I don't have to sell you on these, nor hold off the few pics I have any longer. Keep in mind that more photos are forthcoming, so I will add them when I get them.
I have to give credits to my dear friend Peter Chaney for taking those photos for me. You can get in touch with him and see his world at www.nickelsvision.com.
I'd like to also thank Stan at Toyo Tires (www.toyotires.com), who made this new setup possible with a fresh set of Toyo T1-R tires!
Last but not Least, the entire crew at Forgestar (www.forgestar.com) for making this the very first set of F10's on any Mercedes!
Enjoy:
And the money shot:
Wheels: Forgestar F10 20x9 front, 20x10.5 rear
Tires: Toyo T1-R 245/30/20 front, 285/25/20 rear
1-piece construction, TPMS compatible
$1,699 for the set of 4!!! Contact me for more info

Mike, these are one sick set of wheels!! I swear if I didn't already have the LM's I would order a set of these yesterday! Way to show what a nice set of wheels could do on the W211.

Looks great buddy! I love the step lip!
You have surpassed me my friend! I've gone through 5 sets of wheels throughout the life of the car. You've gone through 5 sets in a lil over a year and a half...

That looks dope, way better than those horrid black wheels you had on the car before....(sorry I just really dislike black wheels). The 20s do look good on a lowered W211 providing they are the right design...are they quite light?

Wow, that looks suprisingly good!! I'm not a fan of step lips, but those look great.
I have couple questions for you. How heavy are they? What are the color options? And do you have any pics of them on black car?
Thanks a ton, and Merry X-mas to all!!
