Spark Plugs

Hey all. I'm looking for some information from someone who has swapped to some colder plugs. I've got NGK ILFR6A plugs in my car right now I think. They seem a little hot to me for a supercharged car. Maybe I'm just paranoid. I'm not sure.

Anyway, I'm thinking about stepping up my game and getting a pulley soon so I figured I'd plan ahead a bit and get some cooler plugs. What are people running for aftermarket plugs? Any "talk back" issues with running non-resistor plugs in these cars?

A couple options I've been tossing around:
Denso IKH16 (non-resistor) 16 heat range
Denso IKH22 (non-resistor) 22 heat range

Let me know what all you big power guys are running.

Thanks!

I swapped out my IK22 for IK20 and they were perfect. Colder but not too cold. But IK22 might be better if you run added boost over stock. I'm going back to IK22 soon when I max out the boost myself.

Thanks for the advice. One question though, I see a lot of 55K rated plugs in either 3/4" reach or 1" reach...depending on brand and model. The stockers are 1" reach I believe...but the IK22's and IK20's you mentioned are only 3/4" reach. Any issue with them not fully threading into the combustion chamber? It just seems weird that they wouldn't protrude as far yet work as good alternatives.

Thanks again!

I am running one step colder in the stock plug and haven't had any issues. My car is entirely stock except for headers (no tune) so I don't know if I'm benefiting from them or not.

What is the plug number you're running?

If ILFR6A is the stock NGK number then I am running NGK ILFR7A.

As long as 7 is colder . It's been a while lol.

NKG Plugs tend to have the widest heat range of any manufacture. Stick with the NGK recommended values.

NGK has 3 heat ranges that fit this car (5, 6, and 7) if you exclude the non handmade race plugs. One hotter, one colder. Doesn't seem too wide to me.
