your right my bad .. its what his car runs . i dont understand how a stock e55 runs the times his does or the traps its amazing to me .. my car stock never saw anything like that .. with mods cars dont run that fast its shocking .. a stock e55 does anywhere between 395 to 410 rwhp right ? what i'm trying to understand is how a stock e55 runs that fast . again not trying to start anything at all just wondering is all

Really the only thing that should be "shocking" is the trap speed. Enzom for the past 2yrs has held the top spot at 11.77 and Housclass was second with 11.84 until I ran 11.81,11.79 and 11.76

Hey Vinny, I know it doesn't make sense why this is happening but I witnessed hammer kill other stock E55's on the track. Actually I posted hammer out running stock E55's, E63's, tune only E55, and a stage 2 (I think) E55. If I lived somewhere else and didn't witness this myself I to would have a hard time believing it. Hammer's hood is always open and he's definitely not trying to hide anything.

LOL....it's a long ways to move just to increase trap speeds. If you really want to see how your car compares to mine do a 60-130 runs and post it up. My times are just like Hammer's, everything makes sense except for the inflated trap speeds. Your boy just ran in -400 DA with clear blue skies, what more could you ask for? If your run was in negative DA you shouldn't be complaining, anything close to zero is awesome no matter where you are. I could just as easily say my car would perform exactly the same where you run if DA was the same. I get my car down into the 1.5's very consistently now and that will allow me to run quick no matter where I go.

Congrats, Hammer!! Keep practicing on those DR's. You'll shave some more off for sure. Amazing what kind of power a stock car can show at the track with some TLC - stock filters and all. I said it years ago. Keep driving it, and it will get faster and faster. I still can't quite figure out how the heck you pull those trap speeds, but nobody ever understood how I was pulling nearly 119 two years ago. Keep going (and change your oil).

Every since our trip on Nov 14th when I went 120 & 121 I haven't looked back, and now I regularly run 120.4 to 121.6. Even when running hot laps back to back to back to back all 4 runs were over 120 and the best run coming on the 4th 11.76@121.41.

Thanks man and don't be jealous bottom line is you are still quicker & faster! and I have not had a chance to dyno the car! I have to figure if Big E's was putting down 410hp then we may be in the same ballpark!

Thanks E, I'm practicing I'm practicing You told me to wax my car and it would go faster! I also have set it up with my tech to change the engine oil, transmission oil and the rear diff oil. The engine oil of course has been done 5 or 6 times and the trans has been done once but the rear diff has never been changed. $400 is what it will cost me!

Great post and I'm glad you could truly appreciate what Hammer has done. What you and your car did 2 years ago is astounding and simply amazing. It's guys like you and Hammer that raise the bar and present challenges to others. Without your low times I'm sure Hammer would have modded long ago but he knew his car had more in her due to the fact you ran your times . Hammers success is a pure product of yours !

Thanks Low, but I'm not sure, I think Max has a shot at it and that is if I can't get any quicker If I can run 11.6x then that may be able to stand the test of time just like Big E's

LOL...your car is a beast and given the right conditions it will be in the 10's easily. I still have quite a bit more power to be gained if I decide to go with a 100 octane tune but I'm still undecided. I honestly feel my car is already both quick and fast and anything more is just silly....haha, yeah right!!!! We'll see, I still have 2 more mods pending but I may just decide to stick them aside for now .

I'm laying in right now sick as a dog and just posting the ***** out of MBW...LOL! Racing in that jacked up high humidity cold a@@ temps really sucks..lol.

Firstly, congrats on some great numbers. You clearly have got the launch down to a fine art and have a finely produced 55K. BTW who built your motor ?

Comparing between different cars running at different tracks is very difficult in drag racing. There are so many variables. DA, prep, inclination, timing gear setup etc etc... but most importantly for me is the importance of the 60' in drags... it really determines the outcome of the rest of the race.

I think a 60-130mph test is a better representation of the relative power the cars are developing. I don't want to take anything away from your record, but when comparing cars (as opposed to cars & drivers), I think a 60-130 is a better, more objective comparison. It would be handy if you had a Performance box with you on your run as you could simply run to 130 and you would register a good 60-130 time. DA also plays a big part as does inclination but most of the other (driver) variables are minimized.

Drag times might be best compared at the same track; across different tracks can be subjective.

Having said this I still have to find an opportunity to get a decent site to get a 60-130 run done. (BTW anyone know of a venue in the UK?). I want to get one done before I do the cams as a baseline, do the cams, and then do the water injection and see if they actually add anything.

Again I don't want to take away from your record ... its fabulous time and trap that many modded cars cannot achieve. Just goes to show AMG make some decent products right out of the box, but I think most of the record is due to your driving and the track... the car has not magically got more power.

Thx for the compliment It's just smoke and mirrors brudda, poof! just like that and I'm gone!

Seriously though I think it has to do with having the confidence that the tires will hold and not spin. This was my 3rd trip to the track on drag radials so hopefully I keep on improving.

Hey Max I'm not sure what your schedule looks like but if you're not busy on Jan 9th come on up to Sac so we can get 2 of the 3 fastest stock E55's together so we can both shoot for 11.6x

I am sure you detailed your car before you drove her home after the track. For those that never met Jack, he does a mini detail before, during, and after the track. Damn I wish I could take better care of my car.

Congrats again Jack!

Jack, that sounds epic! I look forward to racing with you guys. Sac is too far for me right now. I sold my stock wheels/drag radials and have not replaced them with a new setup yet either.

In the meantime you should bask in your glory. It's very rewarding and you have certainly earned it... Maybe I or someone else will come along and take that record back. Although DA and track conditions will play a huge roll. Be safe out there.
