Videos from Sacramento Raceway 12-26-2009
Here a few videos that we took while at the track yesterday. The day started off very promising but once the high humidity rolled in all of the cars slowed down. My very first pass was a 10.859 and I thought for sure I would be beating my PB again but as the day went on it was obvious it wasn't going to happen. My 3 best times for the day was 10.859, 10.886, and a 10.902. I was very consistent with my launches today once I figured out my tire pressure. My four best 60's times were 1.587, 1.588, 1.589 and 1.592. I actually ran my car 7-8 times in 3.5 hours with a one hour break in between runs, this something I never did up until now. Definitely not a stellar day but it's still fun to watch.
BTW...I did change one thing yesterday. I usually use straight 100 octane mixed in with whatever gas I have in the car when I get to the track but this time I used straight 104 with the tank almost at empty. My car definitely didn't like this and it idled rough at both the track and when I got home. I'm not sure how much this will effect my times but I was slightly off on everything. My car is tuned for 91 octane and I'm thinking the fuel was burning way too slow for the timing my ECU would allow...not sure though.
I don't have my 2 best runs on tape this time but it really doesn't matter since I didn't break any of my PB's.....
Here are my times:
I1: 1.589 / 1.588 / 1.587
I2: 4.541 / 4.544 / 4.56
I3 7.000 / 7.004 / 7.021

Shocking my two best runs of 11.4 weren't caught on video either haha wtf why is it always the bad ones when I slip off the line cause of the burnout issue.

I didn't video tape any of my first runs because I know that my car almost always runs faster as the car starts to adapt. This time it didn't happen...haha. Oh well next time we'll do it from the get go, lesson learned.

It's evident while I had some pretty decent 60' times I need to work on them big time. If I can get a little quicker I could be in business!

Thanks Alex! Not my best times but my launches are starting to become really solid right now.
Have you purchased a new car yet and if yes what kind?
LOL...thanks Bruce for always supporting me regardless of what others think. I really appreciate all the phone support you've given me through out my process. Hopefully one day we'll meet up!
Thanks Mark!
LOL...It's funny because Sean just called me and said WTF is Josh talking about. Good ole Josh stirring the pot .
Thanks Sun. Your time is coming very soon and I'm hoping I'll be there to witness it. Maybe we could line up and do it together .
Take a look and tell me what you think.

Thanks Kou. The track wasn't bad for the conditions we had but some still had traction issues. I now had two different guys tell me that I'm losing traction and my car had a slight fishtail in the beginning. There were a few runs were I felt I needed to correct and you could actually see it in the video. I drifted towards the center line and need to make a very small correction to get me back in line.
Take a look and tell me what you think.
Are you going to Famoso next weekend or Sac?

Alan, I do see you angling towards the center and having to correct. If budoboy is correct that it's just how the right lane pitches, that would suck for guys who are trying to shave hundredths from their ET. You always want as straight and level as possible.

Yeah, I'm quite stoked about hitting nothing but 10's the last 2 times out and a total of 11 passes. My goal is to try and hit a high 10.6 by the end of winter, it might be a bit optimistic but setting high goals is what got my car where it's at today. Competing with Ahmad's car is a task that no one could do right now, just too damn quick !

Out Of Control!!
Congrats to everyone! Awesome times!!! I remember when there was a time that only the east coast cars were running good times and MIR was regarded as the magical track. I'm glad there are more west coasters tracking their cars and showing that it can be done on that side too! It's only a matter of time before Alan gets the overall record!
After watching those vids I paid attention to the shifting of the E55s. What mph does 3rd gear end? I understand that it depends on the tire but just a roundabout guess. It sounds as if you guys are going through the traps in 3rd well before the 4th shift!
