help me decide...N.O. tint laws suck
Just moved to New Orleans last summer but never registered my last car here, but have to with my E. Anyhow, long story short, the tint laws are 40% on the front two windows...35 on the back 2 and something like 20 on the rear. I really don't like to have my tint not match all the way around. Should I just go with 40 all the way or do the legal limits?
Any advice is appreciated.
and for those of you that will ask, I am not worried about being pulled over, its the yearly brake tag inspection you have to have done here. They test all the windows and will not pass your car so you can renew your tags.

I just got 2 tint tickets last night. My tins measured at 16 front and 18 back. $130 each. You either follow the rules or pay up. Im going to take my tints off plead guilty and put them back on. $260 is the total for 2 tint tickets when it costs me $150 to put them on in the first place.

I agree with that. I guess my main question was if I should go with what the legal limit is on the fronts all the way around for a uniform finish ?

Do the same percentage for all windows lest end up looking like a van. Laws in Cali are any % back window and rear passenger windows. I run 40% ceramic all round and have had zero issues.
Just do 35% or 40% all round and you'll get no bother since your allowed 40% legally.

To the OP I would def say keep the tint % as close as possible all around.

Interesting as I have never received or even pulled over for tint in California though all of my cars had them. Perhaps because I do not go too dark. i would keep the tint as close as possible, this way the fronts do not stand out too much or even go lighter up front a bit.
