Judging by the number of post I would have to say that the W211 & W212 Platform is the most popular and "perhaps" most legendary.

Definitely, the E is the most popular...

Probably has a lot to do with the class it's in being a "mid-sized" sedan with the hp and torque numbers, it's the most practical as well...

the only thing that looks close would have been the CLS 55 in 2006. Definitely fell off after that year.

I should not have clicked on that link. Now, I must have an R63 to park next to the E55. Lucky for me, I'm in Dallas this week, and so are the only two listed on auto trader.

Google says the C63 is far more popular. However, on this forum and other MB forums the AMG E's are more popular. It depends who you ask or where you look.
