Pros: Your car gets lowered within the parameters that STAR/MB finds "safe". The amount of drop you can get is definitely adequate. It is completely reversible in 10 minutes or less.
Cons: I did mine last week & can't think of a CON

I did mine on my CLS55 this week (my own STAR fs).
I used the DIY Sticky in this forum and set it to +3.5 front & -1.1 rear as instructed. Measuring from floor to metal is 26.25 front & 26.5 rear.
peace

I known there is only one sensor, I fitted lowering links which was very simple apart from the back link which is in a difficult place to see, the only con I found was the fine tuning of each link is done by trial and error and the ride quality did reduce slightly. I feel that the STAR route is cheaper and more accurate also.
I can only imagine when I get round to borrowing a DAS system that it will be easier to fine tune and actually see the car raise up and down by changing the actuation level values in real time.

what is STAR = Mercedes Star Diagnosis system. In Germany this is known as 'Star Diagnose'. Star Diagnosis is also known as SDS or DAS and the computer interface system used to plug into the vehicles diagnostic port.

2009 E63 AMG
I spoke to my dealer today and apparently the 09 E63's arent that easy to lower via STAR. Anyone run into a problem with their 09 or any other gotcha's? It is better to lower via STAR first and then put 20's on the car or vice versa?

Well Geeez don't keep it a secret!!
Post it up here so it can help out everyone. It's already a pain in the *** to try to find someone to do it for you let alone trying to beg the dealer to do it. I had to go buy my own STAR and offering people a less expensive way and safe to do it. Believe me, This is not my source of income nor is it ever going to be.
If anyone wants my STAR, they can have it for $550 + shipping.
