SOME SAY, it can take up to 12 weeks to receive your vanity plate, and that the men and women incarcerated in Georgia's prisons do fine work. All I know is, it was worth the wait.

Great plate. So few people will actually understand what that plate means...you'll know the posers from the enthusiasts pretty quickly based upon their reaction
Great post too, well written LOL.

Guess I'm a poser......
I was actually wondering, so it's good to finally have confirmation.

That was part of the fun of the plate, that there is a very specific audience that will appreciate (and understand) it. It's a bit of an obscure reference in the US, but IMO one that is good for an E55.

Here is the answer from wiki. Although I have seen top gear dozens of times I do not seem to remember any driver named Stig. All I remember is that the chaps who star in the show do the driving. Maybe I do not watch enough?
The Stig is the name given to the racing driver on the BBC Television show Top Gear. In the show he is cast as a mysterious "Tame Racing Driver"

Yeah Top Gear is a massive show in the UK/Aust and lots of other euro countries. It is imho the best car show put out to date without a vague second. The Stig is their resident test driver who is always clad in incognito (fire suit/helmet etc). The Stig's identity has been a long held speculation amongst the TG enthusiast community and has ranged from drivers such as Ben Collins, Damon Hill and of course Schuey. Whilst Michael the Robot 'came out of the closet' recently as the driver, it is dubious and more than likely the role of The Stig is held down by a professional test driver ie a retired F1/Rally/etc driver rather than an actual F1 driver. Plus, the The Stig has more personality than Schuey could ever have.

Thanks everyone. I've already had several random strangers in nice cars (M3, M5, 911) and not so nice cars (Corolla & Quest) give me a thumbs up.
@GedaBlaq - it took about nine weeks from the day I submitted the application in person to receiving the plate. I think the holiday season slowed it down a bit, but they did give me a 90 day temporary tag.
