Akebono has less brake dust as its ceramic based. But I'm going to have to stand corrected here. Right now, we only have OE or Porterfield R4S pads for the E63. The Pagids and Akebono's are for the older 8-piston caliper (55 AMG) as of right now.

Simon, is the Pagid 2687, 8038, or 2488 a correct pad for the 2007 E63? It is the only configuration that appears close to the stock pad. The 2687 is 20mm thickness, 8038 is 22mm, and 2488 is 2mm (doubt this is right).

I checked with Carbotech. They do not have pads for the E63, but will make them up if we supply the backing plates. I will probably have some backing plates after this next weekend on track, and may try it.

Evosport Titamium Brake Pad Shims

Whether you use backing plates or not, install our new Titanium Brake Shims (Ti-shims) to help mitigate heat transfer from the pad to the pistons and ultimately to the brake fluid to reduce fluid temps and brake fade.

Shims will be available very soon for the 63 AMG brakes:

Rebranded Girodiscs

These rotors look very similar to Girodisc rotors - rebrand perhaps?

Girodisc makes some of the best rotors around, they were heavily involved in the design of the Porsche GT3 braking system if I am not mistaken. Although Girodisc does not list available rotors for the W211 on their webpage - I do have a set on my car, and they are beautiful pieces of art and provide superb performance. However, it does appear that these Evosport Rotors are quite a bit less expensive than their Girodisc counterparts... so if they are rebranded, I'm wishing I would have purchased them from Evosport!

Is this the case Simon?

Quick and perhaps ignorant question - do the braking systems differ between the E55 and E63? I assume yes, as this thread is labeled for the E63...
