New 20" wheels - advice on these please
I am looking to order these for the E55 and would be grateful with any input on the following:
![](http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j122/marc777cars/E55AMG.jpg)
1. The wheels have a deep polished lip, especially the rear wheels - and whilst the car pictured is an E55 have any of you any experience on whether there are issues getting clearance of the brake calipers? The supplier says not but has only ever fitted to an S55. I imagine they will be similar?
2. The car suspension is standard airmatic and so can I expect any rubbing issues ?
3. What profile tyre size should I look to? They are suggesting 30 at the rear 35 at front, which is the same as my existing 19" wheels. I am guessing therefore that i will have a larger rolling diameter - does this create any issues?
4. Has anyone on the forum got these wheels - do you know what they are called?
Thank you for your help
Marc

These are the existing wheels and you can see the proximity of the caliper

They look like the wheels discussed in this thread, https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...v2-wheels.html. You will want 30/25s up front and 25/20s at the rear. As long as you get wheels that are made to fit the e55, you should not experience any rubbing. What supplier are you dealing with? Also, you probably already are aware of the fact that while 20"s look incredible, they will ride like complete crap. I went from 20"s to 19's and it was the best decision.

I have those wheels. The rear wheels have about 1mm of space over the caliper. It seems scary, but the brakes don't move & the wheels don't move. I had them on for 6 months last summer with no issues. I was definitely not the guinea pig...i made sure a few guys owned them without issues before i bought them.
Don't get 30/35 profile tires, cuz you might rub.
You need 285/25/20 in the rear...i was scared of the profile, but they ride nice with airmatic suspension. Get the Vredesteins!
You will not be disappointed with these wheels.

Having imported a 66 Mustang from California I know that imports to UK attract a 10% duty followed by a 17.5% purchase tax. Shipping is not the cost - thanks for the offer though.
