First track day in my 63
I know this isn't saying much, what with the 1000+whp 55's in da house, but I finally got to the track this evening; exactly 2 weeks since I bought my 63. The stats for my bone-stock, 46,500 mile E63 on street tires:
Track: Sunshine Dragstrip in Clearwater, Florida - DA: 435.06 ft Air Density for Sunshine Dragstrip
Best R/T: +.002
Best 60' times - 1.955 / 1.986 / 1.988 / 1.991 (50.0 deg f TRACTION!)
Best 1/8 miles - 8.177 / 8.215 / 8.163 / 8.244 (below corresponding 60')
Best MPH -- --- 88.61 / 88.30 / 89.00 / 88.17
I was hoping for a 7.999 but that just wasn't going to happen on a cold night on street tires. Traction control was ON for all the runs and I still spun badly on 4 other runs that resulted in 2.05-2.30 60' times I played with the suspension settings, raising the front end, softening the rear, but at the end of the night the best 60' times came in SM-1, front down & trans in S. No, I didn't even touch the paddles.
I did have some fun with cars in the other lane, the Rustangs didn't stand a chance. Beat a Tahoe SS (AWD) with a ton of bolt-ons. But the best race was against a 1965 Chevy Caprice that had a built 350 w/Edelbrock Performer heads. We were side-by-side all the way..I won by .0023 sec.
Kleeman ECU & Headers are just around the corner. Maybe then I can at least keep up with the a stock 55.

118 so do you think it was that or the pulley? 180? Did you have to have the ECU reprogrammed to run 118?

its a 172 pulley and when i 1st put it on i felt alittle difference but when i put 118 in it felt like a beast . i never feel what others do in the car cause i'm so use to it . but ppl tell me that it snaps them and pins them to seat , when i put the 118 in and drove felt it strong i was thinking this car is alive it really feels violent . on the street going 65 its spins bad and kicked rear end sideways .. but i didnt change my tune after looking at the #'s its doing good timing looks great and power curve is perfect . but keep in mind i have race tune in my car

you have ECU tuned for 118 unleaded race fuel?
