Repairing an 06 E55. Need body parts (and advice)

I'm helping my friend repair a 06 E55. The car has primarily body damage from an accident. Unfortunately, most of the body panels have been damaged to some degree (except the roof and trunk). The wheels are scuffed up pretty bad too. Some forum members have many of the parts that he needs and I'm sure we can get almost everything right here through the community over time.

If anyone has E55 body parts, please PM me as he wants to start fixing it in the next few weeks.

Having said that, I was wondering if it made more sense to buy a salvage E55 or E500 sport with heavy flood damage and pull the parts off that. Especially, if it's the same color. Has anyone done that before? Any idea what they generally run for? Also, I assume he can generally take parts from 03-09 understanding that 07-09 require additional consideration.

Appreciate any/all input. Thanks guys.

And why didn't they total the car if most of the body panels are damaged? Or did you buy it salvaged?

Long story short, his wife paid the bills, she became very ill, was hospitalized for a while and the policy had lapsed when the accident had occurred. Sucks. But that's why I'm trying to help...

Thanks nanayay6. I'll reach out to him today. Everyone's been great and very supportive. I've located a number of the parts right here on the boards.

Hey Blando, if you could find a salvage E55 and use the parts, you could probally make up most of the money parting the rest out. It is a PIA but it is deffinetly a option. What color is his?

Thanks emoving - it is Flint Grey. He actually bought my first E55. We're looking into the salvage option, but so many folks here have parts at reasonable prices that he may be able to get it done through the community. On the salvage side, I just have no idea what a car would generally cost and what is involved in parting the rest out...

I will keep an eye out on my end and check pricing.
