not that impressed with my 1/4 last night

track had horrible conditions,my best trap was 117.90 and the DA was 2100.

There was a ctsv there all night and he was trapping 114 and had one 115 run.

threw in 5 gallons 104 oct to see if it help and i was around 114-116 all night.

best et was 12.65 @ 117.90 with like a 2.5 60 ft

basically first gear was useless,my bro was trapping like 110 in his e55 with a renntech airbox and everything else stock.

there was a v4 335 there and had an exh and pump gas and he couldnt trap over 104,and there also was an evo trapping 122 that is very fast for the conditions.I asked him and he said he usually traps 125-126 at our track

Whatever we're tuning!
God you ran 104 octane Angelo.

Did you swap out the pulley yet? if you didn't and ran it again.

yeah,I ran 104 as a safenet,I didnt want to blow anything up,the car was consistant at 114,its weird,I think I might have belt slip.

there wasnt a lot of people at the track so I ran 3 runs back to back 114,113,116 then 113,115,118 wtf is going on.I was also trying different settings,s,m ect...

I asked if the gun was off because my car felt them same on all runs and they said no one else said anything.

I was just glad I out trapped the ctsv.that was my goal all night haha, car hits the dyno monday!!!!

If I were you I wouldn't really care about the times and traps. When track prep is horrible there's nothing you could do except have fun. All though it doesn't make sense that on all three back to back runs your traps were 3 mph faster on the last. Just wait for better conditions and try again.

Obviously you were on street tires which wouldn't help the cause. Maybe you should invest in some DR's and try again because this way track prep wouldn't matter as much.

yeah I think the gun was off,my bro said on one of his runs he trapped 29mph,I was over 120 on my dash on the runs and was expecting to see 123 on the slip.

after the first run I figured I wasnt going to break even my stock runs so I just had some fun with it.

I think you are a little north of me, but in NY the weather was horrendous for a track outing. Saturday looks promising if you want to improve.
Did you spike your fuel before going to the track, or reset the ECU?

just added the 104 and drove it.I didnt reset anything because last time I did the sneaky reset and the stupid car paused on shifts untill it figured out what was going on lol.

I just wanted to see how the car would do the way I drive it on the streets.

Either way don't put too much thought into your runs because guessing is pointless. The best thing to do is get back out there in better conditions and see how the beast does.

Are you still running EC's tune? If I remember correctly you had some AFR issues, lean?? This run was done on street tires...right? What kind of 60' times do you usually cut?

I just went to the track the other day with my street tires and doing that at Sac is big no no. I needed to log my car and the street is no longer an option for me. Anyways I started off in second gear and babies it out of hole, maybe a 1/4 throttle, and once I finally floored it I still broke my tires loose pass the 2-3 shift. I think my car ended up running a 11.9 which was quite depressing. Obviously I didn't really care about my time but I did find a flaw in my system due to my logging . Good luck and get back out there.

I'm with you man. I've ran twice at the local 1/8th mile and ran an 8.2 @87mph in November and the other night 8.44 @85mph. 60ft times were 1.94 and 2.00 respectively. I wanted to blame track conditions (which are bad) and the weather but I have a hard time blaming outside factors lol Sometimes it's the indian, not the arrow as I learned in golf.

At least you out trapped the CTS-V and 335i. Those are good indicators your car is strong enough. I didn't have anyone to compare to because it was all home grown dragsters and then me lol But I know how you feel. "What the hell" feeling right?

2.5 60' enough said.

Do whatever it takes to get it down whether it be better driving, tires, slicks, whatever... and problem solved. As for the trap, you seemed in line with some other performance cars so DA or whatever could be the main deal there

conditions play a huge role,is your car stock?I 40 degree difference in ambian temp is huge at the track.

higgins beach ran a 117 with us last year in a 80+ degree day and at the end of the summer ran a 11.3 at 124 in a 40 degree night.

here is my 2.5 60 time

rt .329
60 2.578
330 6.040
1/8 8.760 92.16 mph
1000 11.108
1/4 13.070
mph 117.79

my best 60ft
rt .453
60 2.150
330 5.558
1/8 8.287
mph 91.84
1000 10.674
1/4 12.625
mph 116.80

That's a crazy difference in trap speeds for that guy. Wow. You definitely need to get the 60ft times down but I'm not one to talk lol

Yeah bone stock. I've been told that I'd run a few tenths quicker at a track about an hour away which is a lot in the 1/8th but it's still frustrating. I went the other night because I had different tires (hankook V12's) at 275 instead of the normal 265's. I wanted to see if I could cut a better 60' time but I only had the slip for one run, my second. Trap speed kills me. 87mph is my best so far, WTF. Traction is one thing but you'd think I'd do better then that speed wise. I guess you are thinking the same thing about your runs?

I think I'm gonna take Alan's advice to you and not worry about it until I get at a track with good weather conditions and one that has actual prep. Dr's too. This track is really just a "home grown" track that's just old as dirt. I've been there a total of 4 hours over the last few months and I've never seen any track work whatsoever, even during the local trophy racing. They just don't have the budget. Still I hate excuses. It is what it is but I'm looking for reasons and the E55 being so easy to drive you'd think I'd do a bit better then I am. 1.94 60ft time isn't amazing but not shabby either, after that it's up to the car the way I see it.

Watcha think? I think we're in the same boat looking at your slips so thanks for bringing this up.

That sucks man. Sorry to hear your frustration. I think it is the track conditions though. I know I ran with an SRT-8 and pulled a decent amount which is inline with it "should" be. If you enjoy the car other wise I would encourage you to stick with it and wait for some good conditions, get some good tires and then go at it.
