Newbie tire question for 2004 E55 w/ stock 18" AMG wheels

Will 245/45/18 or 245/35/18 tires fit on stock front rims? I only ask because I'm looking at several sets online, but wanted to make sure they fit before I ordered them. Also, what (if any) performance difference would I notice?

Thanks guys.

Those are the stock sizes on US models as well. I was just curious if different sizes would fit.

Any help would be great.

Both size will fit on your stock wheel but one size is one inche taller and the other is one inch shorter overall diameter than stock. This odd side will mess up your speedometer.

is it possible to run 275/35/18 in back? or will that mess up anything? Its just a little widder than stock 265/35/18.

How wide are your 19's in back, are they 9 inches or are they wider?

They're 9.5, but 275's rim width ranges are usually 9-11 inches so you should be good..!

I ran 275's in the rear on my stockers - no problems what so ever.

TopEndS62, what brand did you run in the back for 285's as I know some tires are slightly wider than others and that might be the very limit of tire width our rims can handle.

Might do exactly what you've done as it's time for new tires for me as well.

Thanks.

Alex

Going with 275 or 285's in the back did anyone notice better traction? Im just wondering what the benefits are? Also any disadvantages?

You'll definitely gain a little traction. Mine hooks better now, but I doubt you want to run NT05's...10 extra mil or 20 extra mil is never gonna hurt traction...I have had no disadvantages, except that in 19" I've bent a couple rims in pot holes...
