Last second MIR rental 4/19/10
I was talking to Charlie today and it looks like we are going to get some good weather on Monday *fingers crossed*. I called and reserved a single lane at MIR on monday April 19th if anyone is interested. If we can get 8 cars it will only be $100/car. I have about 5 confirmed already. I should be installing my ice resevoir this weekend and hopefully finally hitting my goal. Who else is in?

You can put me down as a maybe. I need to get shorter lugs for my DRs. If I can get them ordered and will be here before Sunday then I'll head down and take Monday off of work.

It took alot of hard work and determination to get this close (0.01s). When I say there is alot of blood sweat and tears into this car I mean it literally. I set a very high goal for myself and would love to see it come to fruition. Nothing is guaranteed but I think the car can do it. We should have negative DA in the morning if forecasters are correct. This may be my last shot at it since all these monster builds are finishing (Marcin the monster builder) and guys like Jody, Alan, Mikey, Sun, Sunir, Charlie, Sal etc etc are continuously modding and keeping each other going. I just want the overall record for one day. It will make me feel like I accomplished something

Yes sir, 9am to 5pm.
Cool sounds good. I dunno if my lugs will work but I have shorter lugs that I take off to put my ET Streets on. You can use them if you like

I need to find account for about an extra 10mm of offset that my AMG reps have with the DRs (ET35) over my stock wheels (ET22).

I'm not sure yet. This will not be one of the big rentals. It will be a small rental, maybe 10 cars and a single lane.

No. Prep depends on the track rental. This one will be a small single lane rental so it will be sprayed with VHT to the 60' and the track will be prepped beyond that but not sprayed with VHT. On the bigger rentals some of the very fast cars pay the extra money needed to spray VHT all the way down the track (50 cents per foot) and we keep street tire cars out of that lane. Thats when it hooks like crazy. Only very high hp cars need that much prep (Think 8's and lower). Regardless, MIR has the best track prep I have ever experienced.

Good luck Ahmad and that record is yours for the taking!!! Your launches are very consistent, cars dialed in, and the rear reservoir box is the nail in the coffin. Us west coast guy are definitely cheering you on and excepting the challenge to meet the bar you have set. Guys like yourself push us slower guys to go faster!!!!

Good luck Ahmad and that record is yours for the taking!!! Your launches are very consistent, cars dialed in, and the rear reservoir box is the nail in the coffin. Us west coast guy are definitely cheering you on and excepting the challenge to meet the bar you have set. Guys like yourself push us slower guys to go faster!!!!

Ahmad, how are we are confirmed racers? I can open it up on another forum, if need be. How many do we need for 2 lanes? I'd hate to see you not get the record, because I'm chewing up the VHT with my street tires.

Getting confirmations is like pulling teeth. Should be good for single lane. For 2 lanes the number jumps to 24. Don't think thats doable but you can open it up to any friends of yours. No worries, if I don't get it it wasn't meant to be. I have some pretty beat up (remember ec dyno day) drag radials you can run if you can get them down there
