BMW Hartge 5
spy pic of E60 M5

Here's a spy pic of the new M5. As a currwnt bmw 5 series owner, I hate the tail light and the interior design.

For those has not see the official E60 pics here they are.

I like the hood design and the headlight cluster is fine for me.
The taillights look very Japanese...or (worse yet) KOREAN!

My biggest gripe, though, remains the dash design.
I detest the 90 degree angle from the center console to the control area where the temp/stereo gauges are. Looks like something from the 1970's.
No flowing, connected, sculpted design--instead it's chopped up, boxy and industrial looking (which, I realize, is the 'look' that they're trying to deliver).

And I note the infamous "I-Drive" display is still prominent atop the dash.

..............For a car that will have such a powerful engine, I cannot believe the terrible design job that BMW is doing. Are the designers at BMW smoking a bad batch of weed or what?

WOW! A Pontiac Aztek sedan! Cool. Does it have a pop-up camper in the trunk?

I'd still take the E39 anytime over that! The only thing that's good about that shell is the the engine!

BMW has so forgotten how to design cars......what are they doing there in that factory.....maybe they better get the williams engineers to start deigning and building they cars aswell..anyhow....the current 3 series is very nice....and that old 7 series was a particular favourtie of mine...and still is

I am going to reserve my decision until I see the actual car.
When the current 7 series photos came out, I didn't like it but after seeing the car a few times on the road, it kinda grew on me.

Have you noticed how much shorter and more squat the new 745 looks from the side compared to the old 740's?

The new 5's have that same kind of look...more of an egg shape than predecessor.

I was browsing one of the BMW boards last night and was amused at how many bimmerphiles are angry at BMW's design team, and how many people commented how Mercedes has relegated BMW to second tier when it comes to overall curb appeal for the entire lineup.

CLK55 Cab
I dont know if I believe thats an M5. Its ride height is too high, it looks about the same as the other new 5's. And also, it doesnt have the fat rear tires characteristic of most M's(unless this guy is REALLY trying to be incognito and changed those)
