Just got off the phone with Lee from ASP. He says that the bearing is supposed to be "sloppy" when ts cold and it will get tighter as it heats up. This is supposed to help add longevity to the bearing.

Mikey, is there any chance you'll make it to Sacramento? Alan may be able to get a private rental going for 4 hours before the test n tune starts so that we can get more track time

that's about the best way that i can think of as well. but like you said, this one may be up to the tuners.

i doubt it. i just towed the bike up to the bay area recently and that drive is still too fresh in my memory for me to want to do it again...

lol, you hard core freak you!

it is my understanding that we'll get some idle and low end drivability issues. that went back to the dtm intercooler attempts where that i/c didn't have the bypass valve at all.

Heck we haven"t even taked about my 85mm TB......

Just for the recored, I have no intention of hanging with Alan, He has a very well sorted out car that is track proven. His PB beats mine by over a 1.00 Heck every thing he touches lays down a PB.

85 mm TB !!!!! I already sense a lot of PB will be set and re-set at Sacramento later this month Just make sure you don't wait till the last minute to do things.... By the way, Alan's plan is to feed you guys a lot of meat the day before the event so that you at least run 0.1 seconds slower

Come on Nick quit being modest. Your car will definitely have a chance of taking me down and that really gets the blood going. It's guys like you, Ahmad, Chiro, Thericker, Urnext, and many others that push the envelope. This is the reason why we go faster every year .

Once again I don't leave myself much time for any hiccups. I really hope things go well otherwise..... My tech will be installing new O2's today to make sure he's healthy and ready for surgery. No use to go any further if she's ill. I'll keep ya guys updated.

For sure Nick will be setting a PB here shortly. His car has already gone 11.8's with minor mods and now that he's heavily modded....oh boy!!!! I'm predicting a very low 11 to sub 11 pass for Nick. It's going to be wicked!!!!

It might be in the high 70's to low 80's with DA in the 1000-1500 range. I still believe 10's can easily be accomplished in this DA. Tick tock boys!!!

FWIW - my car hasnt been the same since upgrading to the 190 from the 180. luckily i own one of each so i am going back down to the 180 tmrw to see if this cures the low-end drivability. I have examined EVERY other possible culprit to the problem. i tried to push the envelope and the car just didnt like it for some reason. everybody tried to chime in and offer some solution but none of them have panned out so far, so we are gonna see if the 180 fixes the prob...

not to sound like a jerk but i am almost hoping that others encounter the same sputtering and surging idle issue after upgrading to these bigger pulleys - because then it will force the community to solve the problem. some on this forum are "boldly going where no man has gone before" and are having some good results but they are without issue. trial and error...

one more thing - if i were leaking boost would it show up on a guage?

There's still time if you get you car up and running healthy . In all honesty I would just wait for winter to come around in Florida. You guys have tracks that dip low in the negative DA with low humidity. Sac is heating up fast right now and the conditions are uncertain. Just get some good solid runs in and get to learn your car before making such a journey.

Just keep in mind that Famoso will be here before we know it and that would be worth making a trip. The track prep at Famoso (private rental) is amazing and lower ET's will be easier to obtain.

That TB looks very nice. I know they make an 82mm Y adapter, but how do you get all 85mm to the engine with this monster? Custom Carbon Fiber?

I think it's just an 82mm that has been bored/honed with a new throttle plate. The outside diameter should be the same. Nick, info paaaleease??
