Different front/rear wheel sizes?

Different front/rear wheel sizes?
At the risk of being lambasted by my "peers" on this forum :-) I need to know if there is a difference in size of the front and rear wheels on the W211 E55? I know the tires sizes are different but I hit a curb and need to replace a wheel so I want to make sure I don't screw up.

The wheel sizes are different and the 8.5 and 9 in. measurements are what I remember when checking my spare set of E-55 wheels.
The front wheel (8.5) is what you want to use for a full-size spare if you go that route (as I did).

Thanks everyone. As it turns out, the owner's manual says that the fronts are 8J X 18 and Rears are 9J X 18 but on the wheel itself it has 81/2J X 18 stamped on it. I guess I have the front one, which is what I needed. Phew!

Well... I went to NTB to get the tire mounted on my new wheel, which has 8.5J X 18 stamped on it. When we got the old wheel off, it has 8J X 18 stamped on it, suggesting that maybe the earlier E55s have a narrower front wheel? In any case, the outside width of the factory wheel was 9" and the outside width of my new wheel was 10"... the net is that I can't use it, it's really a rear wheel I think. Anyone need a brand spanking new rear wheel for $250 plus shipping?

Regarding the E55, I now a bit confused on the sizes
I thought the E55 (just like the E63) came with 8.5 fronts, but it maybe the case that different year models came with different widths

ALL 2003 through 2006 E55s came with 8" fronts and 9" rears, other packages aside.
ALL E63W211s (2007 through 2009) came with 8.5 fronts and 9 rears, again other packages aside.
Now, my question is on the E63W211 performance package. I get that the rears are 9.5s but what are the fronts? Did they bump them up to 9s or keep them at 8.5? Last thing, what is the offset of the 9.5 rear. That would be the widest OEM wheel that will fit any W211.
