Who does, and doesn't have TPM?
So all this time I"m wondering about picking up some more sensors for my next wheel set, when I take a look at my valve stems....they are rubber. My manual is pretty gray about TPM, except if you live in Canada (were Runflats mandatory there?) In any event, I feel sure I don't have it now, and I've gotten no warning notices from my cluster about Tire Pressure. I've looked at my Master Vehicle Inquiry and my window sticker, and neither says anything about it. Believe me, I'm happy not to. Does anyone else "not" have it? My car is a late build 07 63 designo, I'll get the VIN if you like. Thanks for the info....

I have TPMS and have no issues. It is pretty cool you can go to the menu and check the pressure in each tire, but it is not really necessary and more of a convenience. The life of the sensors are around 4-5 years if you do not change the tires.

No TPMS here. And Didn't have it on my C32...which came stock with run flats because there was no chance of fitting a spare for that in the trunk.
I promptly removed the run flats - talk about awful performance.
TPMS is one thing I think I would have liked on this car...but...I can live without it.

I was thining that...
the federal mandate for TPM was model year 2007, but I believe I"m wrong. I think it was MY2009. I don't think my car has it at all. Funny that so many 55's have it, and 63's may not.

a Rivera...via a Custom 24, Strat and Les Paul
Dont have it - didn't want it. Most of the systems I've dealt with I never ended up trusting so I alway keep a digital gage in the car. I'm use to it with motorcycles and I check pressure at least once a week.

OK, I have been through...
every menu in my display (that I can access without SDS), and find nothing. I have looked on my Master Vehicle inquiry and do not see 475 or 477 listed. I also have rubber valve stems. So I"m pretty much satisfied that I don't have them, and that's fine....
BTW, the tech at my store told me that it could be disabled through SDS if you like, but at their place, would want the customer to sign a waiver. Thanks for the responses....

Just replaced the sensors on ours, the original ones lasted 6 years. I check the pressure via the cluster every morning on the way to work.

You can have it disabled through star if your car is older than the mandate year. I think it is Sept 07 but not sure. I had mine disabled when the sensor batteries started failing.

My '09 E63 has it, sort of
On the 2009 E's, at least: Anyone know the diff between the Canadian and the US cars as far as what hardware is used? The Canadian cars have a nice display that shows pressure at each corner. The US cars only have a general warning that there is a discrepancy in pressure somewhere. Are the tire pressure sensors the same between US and CA cars? Or do the US cars use simpler differential wheel speed sensing via ABS sensors? I too thought TPMS was mandatory from '08-up.

My 06 does not have it, but I wish it did... Would have saved me the expensive of blowing a tire at highway speeds... My wife's 09 C300 has it and it kept warning here of low tire pressure... Turns out she had a nail in her tire... Other than that, it has never gone off...

My '04 E55 has it...and if you guys don't know this...The Chrysler Max Care Warranty will cover timed-out sensors. The battery life is only apx. 5 years. So I just got two included in some other work I had done !
