Comand Unit / MP3 Playback Issues..... Please Advise

Hello,
I have been using - same media (memorex cd-r) - same burning drive, & same software program... computer is only a few months old, no issues with discs ever.

Recently started having problems w playback of mp3 cds in single slot Comand drive. Now I cannot recall if these same discs have played perfectly in the past, or if I had never fully listened to them (and therefore never realized the problem.)

I tried the problematic disc in both 05 e55 and 07 e63. Result was very similar on same tracks.
On 55 - the track starts to play, but only gets to one second. It then resets back to 0 and stays frozen there.
On 63 - after about 3-4 seconds of non-playing, the cd gets ejected/spit out immediately. I initially thought it was a problem w e55's older command and MP3 compatibility issues - but that is not the case.

Thoughts? As this is frustrating..

2005 E55 ///AMG
I had issues with this also that never really got resolved fully as I started using my IPOD full time...however I believe it might be the physical CD/DVD burner I am using...never got a chance to try again with a different one.

I can tell you my dealership replaced the entire command unit and 6 disc changer and that made no difference.

I used to have similar problems but not on the Benz. Usually it would be that a CD would play in the car but not on home stereo. Try burning onto a different brand of CDs or set the burner to a slower rate for one burn session.

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
I don't know which Comand version you have, but I've always had a lot of issues with playing back MP3's until I tried an experiment once.

I removed ALL MP3 ID tag information out of the mp3 files. Burned the CD (even DVD) in ISO 9660-1 UDF 1.02 Format

MP3 CD's and DVD's load and play nicely now.

Also, make sure your tree folders aren't deeper than 256.

What did you bring it down to? 12x?

Mine does the same thing - it will play a few tracks...then every once in a while gets to a track and goes... *pffft*...and spits it out as if it's sick of having a disc of all of Metallica's good albums in it.

Was at either 40 or 48x.

Did 24 now. Have literally skipped through every track on new CDs and they all play fine....
