Fog Light resistor install help...

Anyone have directions/pics of how to install the resistors after installing the new LED (iJDMtoy) Fog Lights? I am getting the dash error and intermittent blinking of the fogs...assuming this means I need to install the resistors.

Please help!

Thanks,

Jayme

Jayme,
I installed the EXACT same IJDMTOY - LED fog lights, with their recommended resistors.... and they DO NOT work. Initially, they flash on for a brief moment, and then light on dash says check fog lights.... Resistors are indeed hooked up properly and have been tested extensively, etc.

I actually did not install them, so do not know the process.
However my install guy definitely knows the program on install and has done A TON of stuff for me with no issues. I believe it is a product problem.

Which LEDs brand/website/link will work on the E55 for the fog lights?

Thanks!

Who else has done 68-SMD LED fog lights from I-JDM TOY ??

I used Resistors and they flash on for one second... obviously I would like to make them work.

Thanks in advance

I have the Hoens already but they don't match the LED city lights hence why I was hoping/trying the LED fogs.

I ordered from IjdmToy and everything works great! You probably did not install the resistors correctly to the original wires. Here is a picture.

Just so that we are all on the same - can you confirm the part numbers that you bought from iJDMtoy - I am thinking that I bought the wrong LEDs ...this is what I bought from them (resistors are not installed yet as I figured not to waste my time if no one has got the LEDs to work..):

New!! Unbelievable Xenon White 96-SMD 360-degree shine 9006 (aka HB4, 9012) Hyper-Flux LED Bulbs For Fog Lights or Daytime Running Lights

AND

50W 6Ohm Load Resistors for LED Turn Signal Corner Lights or LED License Plate Lights (Fix Hyper Flash, Warning Cancellor)

Does this look right - I think I may have a problem with the 96 SMDs in the long run...thinking the 68 SMDs...

What exactly did you buy from them? And you do not have the blinking or errors in the dash??

2 Questions for you:

1. did you buy 96 or 68 SMD
2. does it matter which wire the resistor connects to OR which way it runs other than from one side to other and connected?

Not sure the #2 question makes sense, maybe more like for polarity, does it matter which end connects to which side/wire?

Hi. I bought the same resistors you did but got the 68-smd led fog lights that they sell. I will have to get back to you on the wires.

pm me if you guys have any questions on doing the resistor install. The 50 watt 6ohm resistors are the proper ones for most any light application hid or led.

I got the 68 SMD's with exact same resistors...

Can someone please post the exact install process for resistors ?
My install guy knows the program, but I want to show directions to him - just in case.

Mine come on for like half a second, then turn off immediately. There is then a message in dash stating check fog lights.

You think the 96SMD will be an issue?

Anyone else have sucess with installing the 96's and have them working - error free??

sorry guys I miss spoke you will need to use a 50watt 3 ohm resistor. This will add about 50 watts of current drain to the wires making total drain for the foglight about 53 watts using the 96smd's. This should be close enough not to throw a error code. Install is simple just take one resistor wire hook it up to one of the wires to the foglight take the other side of the resistor hook it up to the other side creating a direct short between both the wires using the resistor "load equalizer". That resistor will get really hot so mount it on a metal surface to help it cool off. And yes it is supposed to get really really really hot so don't worry it's supposed to be that way. I've done hundreds of these, same step goes for the drl led or any other led's that throw faults just will have to use different resistors for different loads.

Thanks for that.
My installer in fact did install incorrectly.
Will give update when completed - hopefully today.

Installed and working great!! Thanks to everyone for all the input!

The only thing that sucks is that the fogs are blueish color now and dont match the LED city lights...I guess the resistor took some white out of the lights...kinda looks honda civic chotchy looking....

Where can I get whiter LED's from or do I need a more powerful Resistor than the 50w?

My 68-SMD LED fog lights literally match my 6000k Low Beam Headlights perfect, and appear very white-ish.

My LED city driving lights, however, appear quite blue-ish - and stand out opposite the rest. Oh well I'm still happy with everything.

Sorry for bringing back an older thread, but can those of you with LED fogs post some pics? Especially compared to the iJDM led city lights.....

TIA

The fogs look almost identical to the factory 5000-6000k Xenon low beams. The JDMTOY city lights, however, appear quite blu-ish and do not really match.

Here are bad quality ones....
