Just switched out my Forgestars because I wanted to try something a little more "factory custom" v. "tuner custom" (for over all appearance - not just the wheels). Some quick observations:
1) the Forgestars are lighter (by 20 pounds total) - the 19 inch reps are still lighter than the stock 18 inchers by about 15 pounds (total). The Forgestars are LIGHT!!!!! and the stockers are HEAVY!!!!! (I was really surprised that the reps were that much lighter than the stockers though).
2) the offsets are better (more aggressive) with the Forgestars and the reps are going to need spacers
3) The Forgestar rear is 10 inches while the rep rear is 9.5. Consequently, the rear tire was more "stretched" on the Forgestar and in general looks a lot wider than the rep when on the car
4) Both look really good in person (although the car is really dirty in the rep pics and will be polished and waxed very soon).
Forgestars (tuner custom) and AMG 3 piece reps (factory custom):

the reps look better IMO, but the forgestars look good too.

Why not the titanium ones?
I would have to see them in person, but leaning towards the forgestars if you drop it....reps if you don't.

I'm curious to know this also. How does it feel? I drive aggressive, and the streets are horrible in Houston. Will they stand up to the abuse?Originally Posted by Worth the wait

Too expensive but my wife loves the Forgestars!! (she actually just wrote this while I was just moving a rug around). Why not the titanium ones?

But they are actually too expensive for the weight penalty (they're insanely heavy). I figured I could always paint them if I keep them and with the money saved - ELM. I'm just starting to do research on ELM's right now because while I know I could get the guys to do STAR super quick - I like the concept of the remote control and I HATE having to hit the raise button because it takes too long for the car to rise

NOPE!!!! but the funny thing is - neither do the Forgestars. . . anymore. For those that don't know, I was having ridiculous vibration with the Forgestars that was really pissing me off. It was so bad that I recently pulled them off and put the stockers back on for a road trip to NY (which is when I started to appreciated the stock style again and lead me down the road to the reps in 19's). I had pretty much made up my mind that I was going to sell them because of this and then the Houston crew shamed me into actually doing manual labor to try to diagnose the problem (that and I couldn't justify selling something that I was having problems with because karma really can get you and for the money I wasn't willing to wait for the payback). Long story short - both times I've pulled the Forgestars off, a hubcentric ring had dislodged and was sitting on the hub (both times it was a different wheel that did this). I used painters tape to secure the rings and went about putting the Forgestars back on (two at time). First I put on the fronts and took it out - no vibration. Then I put on the rears and took it out- no vibration. Putting them back on this time around I figured out what I THINK was causing the vibration - they didn't seat properly. When putting them on, it's a two man job - one person has to hold them firmly in place so they are flush (the hubs are really small - especially in the rear) and the other has to tighten the bolts - I would HIGHLY recommend that one does NOT just put them on the hub and put the bolts in as I think this is what cause the original vibration. Actually my big question is.....do the reps vibrate over 80 mph?

Not enough time with the reps but here's my impressions of the Forgestars: INSANELY light - immediately noticeable in braking and handling (turn in is much quicker and you can tell that the brakes are not working as hard to stop). This is just my opinion but I also think that road imperfections are picked up more because they are so light (I think that the lack of weight is causing more suspension action over the little hits but there's no way to prove this). As far as durability - they have held up amazingly well. There are some rock chips but honestly, I have been known to hit triple digits occasionally and that comes with those speeds. Build quality is superb and they really are nice wheels for what you pay for them. I have taken big hits with them and nothing. My biggest problem was having the bad luck of not having them seat properly and thus the vibration - once that was taken care of. . . all good.I'm curious to know this also. How does it feel? I drive aggressive, and the streets are horrible in Houston. Will they stand up to the abuse?

Looks like the Forgestar rears are 10" wide. How wide are the fronts? The fitment looks great.

I was gonna post a new thread but noticed somebody has already went through this. I am in the same exact dilemma. Stockers..or the f14's. I am also thinking about the value (forgestars vs OEM's) when/if I sell the car few years down the road..
What do you guys think!! f14's are stock size (265/35/18 and 245/40/18) which I dont mind at all.

Also, if somebody can explain why do ppl get rid of these rims soon after they get em..!! I see a lot of FS threads for these.
