Monarch Wheels- tough or weak?

anyone have thoughts on the 19" euro63's and their ability to take daily driving abuse? by abuse, i don't mean killer potholes...has anyone bent the hell out of them by simply driving back and forth from work? my stock e63 wheels haven't held up very well. i can't imagine the 19" wheels would do better, but i certainly couldn't stand them doing any worse than the stockers. right now i'm on 19" forgestar f14's. those seem pretty tough so far.

thoughts?

I had these wheels and after about 4 months of normal use the lips had alot of dents from rocks. If you check out the lip on these wheels they are soft and will dent up easy.

They were temps on my car until I debated over HRE's or CCW's. You get what you paid for and at $1000-12000 for all four it isn't much. You get this:

From a slow roll over this:

ahh. that's too bad. the look of those euro63's really fit the the car nicely. maybe the version that doesn't have the lip would hold up better? even though they are inexpensive, i have little interest in replacing a wheel every few months.

thanks fellas.

I was in the same boat as you, I asked the same question about these wheels and I ended up getting them. As soon as they came to my door it took me one second to realize that these would never go on my car. They looked great but felt very light and cheap. I sold them new in the boxes and now I got my work t1s coming in the mail. Remember you get what you pay for.

I got 20's and for the price there is NOT a better looking wheel for W211. My gf who curses the day I bought this car is obsessed with the wheels.

I can shed some light on these wheels. As I've had to replace both front wheels, due to pot holes, that bent both wheels. It hasn't dramatic, but a slight bend, that can be felt in the steering. The wheels are light, and do bend easily depending on the sidewall of the tires. Like 25, 30 or 35 series. The size makes a difference as well, 19 versus 20, the bigger the wheel the shorter the tire sidewall is normally. These are great looking wheels, I love the look. But the polish lips dents, scratches easily. And can't be replaced as it pressed on. A three piece wheel would be better in this instance. As the some of it;s parts can be replaced. The lip tends to hold water under it, throwing off the balance until the water is dispersed. The polished stainless steel lip, doesn't polish up to well. Well at least I haven't found anything yet to bring out the brillant luster. Since they use a staggered pattern, the rears tend to get dinged my tiny rocks, being kicked up by the front wheels. Just be careful when driving, avoid potholes at all cost, and they will last. I have tried getting the bent wheel straightened to no avail, if the bent is on the back side of the wheel, it typically can be fixed, using heat and a hydralic press, but the press dented up the lip, when it is compressed. So it's better replacing it. I'm going to take the two bent to the metal salvage yard and recoup some money. If I suffer another bent wheel, I'm definitely going with something different. May be the forged one the looks very similar but without the polished lip. I'm more 50/50 right now.

What he said

You need to post more pics in a separate thread and see what happens

and no way I'd switch those out. . .
