I posted this in the CLS thread as well but wanted more input as Im in the market to purchase new tires VERY soon. Just curious to see what brand/model and even size tires has performed the best for you guys so far. 19s and 20s feedback would be awesome. I recently put on Hankook Ventus V12's, 18 inch stock rims. They have been great - good grip, very quiet at both low and high speeds, and the price was excellent as well.

The Verdesteins Ultrac Sessantas work great!

Love them! Quiet all round, and very impressive grip! I've had Hankook Venuts V12's before and I thought they were great until I tried these Verdesteins!

For overall, I really like the Toyo T1-R's. Lately I've been hooked on the Nitto NT-05's.

RE: Tires

Michelin PS2, I believe it is the PS3 now. The PS2's on my 63 are outstanding.

Why mess with perfection. PS2 FTW!

I am using Toyo 888's now but gotta be honest, really sick of fighting off the "you got bald tires" crowd. Going back to PS2s after these are done.

See my "They're F'in road racing tires!!!" thread.

+3

PS2s were made for this chassis. Most predictable tire out there, imho.

I've never had PS2s before. My wallet likes the Vredesteins and so does my car. Awesome grip.

Not sure about sizes, but if you like PS2's try the Bridgestone RE-11. On my TT, better in every way than PS2's.

Interesting - I havn't seen anybody mention Conti Extreme?
I had full intentions to buy Michelein Pilot Sports and when I went to my buddy's tire shop he said let me just put these tires on, if you don't like them I'll exchange them, well six months and 4000 miles and I'm still glad I put them on. I've been cought in a a few down pours on road trips and I felt comfortable, dry pavement I feel they have excellent grip and they are a quite tire. The price is right and they also came with a one year warrenty? IMO a good bang for the buck.

The Continental Extreme Contact DWS work outstandingly in all weather conditions, I have them on my E63, and I couldn't be any happier. They also have a great wear rating of UTQG 540. So they will outlast most if not all other comparable tires. You can't go wrong with these, not to mention a nice tread pattern, befitting of an AMG. a little more about these amazing tires. The ExtremeContact DWS (DWS for Dry, Wet & Snow) is Continental's Ultra High Performance All-Season radial developed for drivers of sports cars, sports coupes, performance sedans and sport trucks. The ExtremeContact DWS is designed to satisfy their year-round driving needs by blending dry and wet road performance with light snow and slush traction. ExtremeContact DWS features an advanced silica-based, high-grip, all-season tread compound molded into a unique asymmetrical tread design with stable shoulder blocks and a continuous, notched intermediate rib on the outboard side to enhance responsiveness and cornering stability. The center of the tread features independent blocks separated by high-angle, criss-cross grooves to provide the biting edges necessary to deliver wet road and light snow traction while independent inboard shoulder blocks help disperse water to further enhance hydroplaning resistance and foul weather traction. The ExtremeContact DWS features Tuned Performance Indicators — visible letters molded into the second rib from the outboard shoulder to alert drivers of the tire's performance levels. A visible "DWS" indicates the tire has sufficient tread depth for dry conditions, as well as wet roads and light snow. After the "S" has worn away, the remaining "DW" indicates the tire only has sufficient tread depth for dry and most wet road conditions. And after the "W" and "S" have both worn away, the remaining "D" indicates the tire has appropriate tread depth for dry conditions only. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wound jointless nylon cap plies to provide long-term integrity under high-speed conditions while reducing weight and helping to provide more uniform ride quality.

Toyo T1Rs are the best. Those who say PS2s do not know what life is like with a good tire.

believe it or not but I'm running some pretty inexpensive fuzion zri tires and they are simply amazing. Tons of grip, good looking tread, and VERY inexpensive. The only downside to them that I have found is they don't give off alot of noise when you are loss of traction on turns, but other than that I can't recommend them more highly. I've had toyos, BFgoodrich, & goodyears and they aren't even close.
