ok>> MB assist guy just got there.. 12.2V on batt. by not turning over meaning when you turn the key the engine does not even crank over>> she tried to start it with the keyless and it said to put in P or N. but it shows it is in park. she tried wiggling it also.. she has been dealing with this about 5 hours now.. I am not sure what is going to be worse, the bill to fix it or what she is going to do to my amex to make up for it

Dude, take a breath and relax. It's a car. Your girlfriend is OK, assistance is there to help, let them help. Have the car towed to the nearest dealer, let them check it out. If you have to pop for a hotel for the night, do it and order some room service. You'll be OK!
I would assume that you knew going in that a car with 100k miles on the odometer may require some maintenance/repairs. You're just getting yours out of the way early in the ownership
There are many more things worth worrying about in life than this. You'll get it sorted. You're both ok, and the car will be fixed up by tomorrow. Yes it may be expensive, but you gotta pay to play...
Once the car is running properly, all you'll think about is TORQUE and how amazing the car is. Today will be a laughable memory. Hang in there.

WHOOOHOOOO!!!!! MB guy got there cycled everything and hooked it to a "box type thingie" and got it started.. He said it is really weird and he thing the car just had some sort of melt down kind of like the blue screen of death on your computer and a reboot took care of it... She is on her way home, atleast if there is a problem that needs to be addressed it can be done at a local Indy shop or with what is obviously a kick *** group here.. Thanks again for everyone that called and tried to help
On the plus side, I have not even had the chance to see this car yet, he said "it is a super clean fun looking ride and looks great">>> WAIT!! come to think of it he did not specify her or the E............. NAW,,,, had to be the E

Good news.. I have heard that when either battery gets weak all kind of strange stuff can happen. Lets us know how things turn out. You owe your woman a serious dinner... And get it to an Indy. As stated before, when hooked up to Star Diagnosis system, every fault can be read. That will help to determine what the issue was, and minimize a future occurrence. Enjoy your new ride!!

Glad everything worked out thus far. Sounds like he just hooked it up to SDS and reset a bunch of crap. Either way, get it home and check both batteries and the alternator just to be sure. You have a good woman.

Agreed, sounds like alternator. I wouldn't *** around..replace the batteries at the same time. Glad you got it sorted out. Had to be a trying experience.

I would like to add, being new around here, that the advice and support of the W211 AMG community is amazing to see in action. You guys rock!

I second that. Lots of smart, helpful people on here. My dealer hates when I quote the Forums. They don't like a well informed customer!

If you call MBUSA, they will arrange a tow for you to the nearest dealership. MBUSA usually uses towing companies from around the area that you are stuck in; also they only choose towing companies which have a good standing relationship with your local dealership so that they are able to bill the dealership directly. However, after your car is inspected by the Mercedes dealership and found that it was out of warranty, the dealership will bill you back for the towing amount when you pick up the car. I suppose you can request from MBUSA to arrange a tow to a different city/state, but be prepared to give them a credit card because my guess is that they'll charge you directly for it and it won't be cheap.
