Active Headlights Conversion to Non-Active Headlights

Hey guys, has anyone done a conversion from the xenon active headlights to the xenon non-active headlights? I assume the install is the same but I'm wondering what needs to be done for the coding, is it as simple as a menu in the SDS that can turn it off once non-active headlight is installed?

Why would you want to deactive this option? This is a cool option.

the active motor part busted out on me while overtaking someone, i'd rather not have it happen again so I wanted to go the non-active headlights route. It's also cheaper to get the non-actives.

Is it showing a fault right now, with the busted motor? If not then I think you should be fine without any coding.

You could also just reach into the back of the light and unplug the harnesses on the active motors, if you get no errors on the dash then just gut them and you'll be fine. I've taken these lights apart before (https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...eadlights.html) and they are super over-engineered, but if I recall the motors just adjust +/- from a set position, so you can aim them and then leave it alone.

On mine I never installed the auto-leveling hardware, just aimed the lights how I wanted them.

Yup, it says "Active Headlmp Currently Unavailable". Took it into the workshop and they said it's the motor for the active headlights.

How can you adjust the position left to right? Or were you only referring to setting the up and down position?

In that case it can probably be unequipped via STAR and then it will stop complaining.

There is a left/right adjustment, I think they need a torx driver to turn. Sometimes the adjustment screw is covered by a plastic part that just slides off once you give it a push towards the back.

hi huys ,i got the same problem too but at the same time i get another malfunction;esp detective,he says.
when i got this the steering of the car changes to,it is like i put the car in sport(the absorbers in sport) and it is very hard and bumpy driving.
i've changed my big battery(the dealer did it,the big one in the back of the car)and i had for 4 weeks no problem.
yesterday it started again .
could this be the second battery?of a short cut.
do you see it on the star-check when the motor is broken of the lights .
o i forgot it's a e270 break,end 2004(belgium)
