If you can do most of the work yourself and have a solid connection at the parts department at the dealership, then it maybe okay to stay without warranty. Otherwise, it is very risky not to have warranty - at least an aftermarket one.

It's funny, before I had my Chrysler warranty I spent close to $5000 on repairs in the first few months of ownership. Since I purchased the warranty in April, not a single thing has gone wrong.
I had a ESP malfunction the other night when I was doing some launches with a buddy and I was almost excited to take it in and use that thing, sure enough the next morning the message is gone and has yet to return![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

No warranty for years and years now. Have had a few issues.
Lost a supercharger but I think it was from shooting NOS and had either a solenoid leak in fuel and/or NOS and BOOM. That was bout 4K
Tranny went south a couple years ago but again I am rough on these cars mod wise. Totally was expected. Had a buddy that had a spare so that one cost just install.
Otherwise lost a Airmatic strut recently and that ran bout 500$ and was a DIY.
Also replaced AC compressor and expansion valve/dual valve and now am back to ice cold AC. That was bout 5-600$ and was DIY.
No way around it, it's a pretty large gamble going without warranty and we sure are starting to hear lots of more breakdowns happening lately.
If you are not handy with a wrench or don't have the time, may wanna consider trying to get extended warr. somehow.

I just missed my opportunity a few months back to buy the after market Chrysler warrenty, my loss, but I have no intention's of getting rid of the car. It's got 46K on the OD and I plan to do a few mods shortly.
Still love the car - You want to play you got to pay.

Had warranty for two years, not a single claim. The very next month after the warranty expired, the stealer want to charge $2k for a leaky tranny, valve covers, and cabin filters. Guess what, got it all done in an afternoon and cost less than $200 in parts.

Have a CSC warranty for the next 20 months and unlimited miles - already has paid for itself: paid 2800.00 have had 5000 worth of work done. I love to wrench (but unfortunately, my love does not translate into proficiency with the wrenches
- however, I can build anything that comes in a box
). I got the warranty because I remember when my parents european cars were out of warranty and they would take it in - the disgust at the costs of maintenance for a "superior" automobile. After their last MB they went Lexus and while they miss the "prestige" of the Germans, you couldn't pay them to go back to the Europeans (I am the opposite - I can care less about the prestige - just give me the F'ing TORQUE!!!!!!!!)

i have mine until January and am not sure what to do - i want to keep the car but need to find another extended warranty and if it makes sense why not as I love the car - i have a great shop that works on only BMW and MB and they are very reasonable.

Don't forget when the dealer sees a warranty i am sure he sees the dollar bills... Now how often do these cars have a serious breakdowns like transmission, engine or a supercharger failure. The most common and the expensive most part to my knowledge is the airmatic and that too is available after market now.

Just got mine before Chrysler cut it off ... on 5/20. 5 years and up to 110,000 miles. No claims yet of course.

Have warranty and never plan to mod anything, so I am good to go! They took car of a seat belt tensioner, motor mounts and door handle for me. SO far so good. If I never need it again I would be happy- But I know it is there.

I'm out of warranty but I don't sweat it,usually. I have a go to guy that can do anything and everything for the beast and he always takes care of me. I got VERY lucky!

I have a 2005 that was maintained under warranty and had all issues repaired. I purchased it with the idea of slowly transforming it into my version of a German muscle car. I am not sure if a warranty means much after I start the Frankenstein process.

Got in on the CSC in January and got the 5 year warranty for $2925. I have already had to use it twice for a total of $4400 at MB. Thank goodness for that shi*ty business model of Chrysler's lol

no Warranty here either. my Benz tech is freakin' awesome price/labor wise. Only independent shop I take my car too is his so I didn't sweat it too much when I purchased my E55 w/o warranty.
