I just got a letter informing me that chrysler is canceling my service contract and they would be issuing me a refund

Has this happened to anyone else on the board? What do you guys think I should do about the matter?

Obviously they aren't going to cover my car anymore so where is the next best place to obtain an aftermarket warranty for this car? This is unfortunately one more push to sell the car as I don't feel like owning it without some insurance.

Since May 14th. I know they decided to remove coverage for MBZ's on May 20th but I clearly made it in before the deadline and paid and received my contract provisions in the mail... What a bummer.

They did the same thing to me, but before I received the contract in the mail. After a phone call I was told the contract clearly states they were within their rights.

Welcome to the party...lol.

the reason i asked is becuase i wanted to know if they were canceling contract based on the service/claim history, but apparently that is not the reason.

This is bad news... I guess I should also be receiving my letter shortly.

My cliff notes:
* Bought the warranty in May, top coverage up to 2013 or 130K miles
* Manufacturer's Warranty expired Aug 31st, 2010 @ 45K miles
* Went to the dealer with a laundry list of things and got them all taken care of before expired
* Haven't used the CSC yet

That just bites, like getting kick in the gutt. And of course their going to pro-rate your warranty too. When you find a new warranty company, please post for our fellow AMG Owners.

I'm surprised they haven't cancelled mine yet. I paid $3,000 for it, and so far I've cost them over $10,000. Lol

Sorry to hear that bro, I hope you can figure something out. This car without a warranty is a bad idea.

I paid $3k for my 3 year unlimited milage warranty w $100 deductible.

I paid more since I bought it after 60k miles and my car is an 03.

I have put in about $10k worth of service repairs...

struts, kompressor, ball joints, engine mounts and a few electrical stuff..

if they were to give me a refund now, it would be a crime. But I would take it no less.

I was hoping to extend my policy but I'm sure that is out of the question now.

wow that's a shame - CSC was the best friend of the used MB buyers. i would not want to own an E55 or any AMG without warranty.

How could owning an E55 or any AMG, for that matter, without a warranty be any worse than owning a Porsche without a warranty? Just wonderin'

In bold, this is why CSC is not taking anymore MB's let alone AMG's. Pretty sure..lol.

Typically get driven more than a Porsche due to the fact that it can be an "only" car while most Porsches, I would bet, would be a true "play" car and as a result, driven ALOT less - that being said, you're right - costs to play if they break are probably similar.

I got you covered. PM me your vin and the mileage and I will get you a quote. It's great coverage, pays top dollar for repairs, no hidden surprises either.

UPDATE: Since I have had no claims with the company they are going to be refunding the entire amount. That's the good news. The bad news is they will not reinstate my contract and will not offer these contracts ever again. Not anything we all don't know already. Kudos to those of you that have them and will continue to rack up claims. I have absolutely no sympathy for a company that doesn't honor their commitments. I hope you guys get ten fold your contract in warranty claims work.

Thanks Craig PM Sent!

mine is still good as far as i know -- I have not heard anything from the company -- but my info has changed since the contract was bought last year -- I guess they could contact me through my dealer if they needed ---

10x my contract --- not yet but i still have 4 yrs to go -- currently racked up about 4X the contract cost in 1 year. but hopefully nothign serious happens.. no fun having your car down.

That is total BS!!!!! If they cancel my warranty I will have a lawsuit against them no doubt. I think I am safe though because I bought mine at the beginning of January, so they will not have the deadline excuse that they might have with you. Either way now that I have heard your story I will have absolutely no shame taking those suckers for everything I can next time I am at the dealership They are just a horrible company and the fact that the government bailed them out is disgusting

I would love to cancel my contract with my HOA. However you just cant do that. Its not like you did anything to warrant a warranty void. I think you should be compensated more than what you paid. The cost of seeking out another warranty company, another inspection will add up.

If you think about it. Any other warranty company is going to require a $200 MBZ inspection. Then the warranty company is going to base your new warranty on your currant miles and year. I sure it will be more than your last one. Now if the MBZ inspection comes back with some issues, They should cover you, or compensate you for that.

I just had some work done under the Chrysler warranty (Seat Belt tensioner and motor mounts).. that was only two weeks ago and the claim went through.

I don't think they can pro-rate based on usage, only time. If you have a three year, with two years left, they owe you 66%. Thats the way proration works. That is why they gave the OP a full refund, he is in the first 4 months, they really can't prorate that much. I got mine in April, so we will see. I don't have anything wrong, or I would take it in tomorrow! If they refund my money, Ill spend it!
