Custom Respray E55
Time to put back all the trim pieces and get this E55 back out on the road! I miss being able to just stomp on an automatic and have it push me back into the seat.
Anyone in MD feel like getting together for a photoshoot?
I'm sure that some guys with wholesale experience will jump in here, but if you repaint a car, especially a non-factory color, you will drop at least $3k - $4k.
The video was hilarious.

LOLL... where do you get this info from?
I've sold over 30 cars in my lifetime... I can as of right now think of 8 of them that were refinished ( 2 of them with a change in color ) and they have ALL sold at book value or MORE ( the ones that have had their colors changed sold for a LOT more ).
I DO tend to keep cars incredibly clean and shiny which I'm sure helped.

Why would anyone pay book value for a resprayed car?? or more for that matter?
It makes no sense, especially if you change the color .
I don't think anyone with a considerable amount of common sense would choose a resprayed car over factory, let alone pay more for it, unless you cheated them out of their money.
Please show me proof, that a respray gets more than book value or holds value as good as factory paint, I dont think anyone in their right mind would agree with you.
IMO there is nothing like a factory paint job, especially Mercedes paint on 2003 and newer vehicles with the nano technology Ceramic Clear coat.

Look at the Op's picture of the hood after the repaint and the pitting around the grill insert. Also pop the hood and take a few shots around the engine bay.
With all that said, to each their own. To the OP, your paint job isnt bad, I like the color. As long as your happy, thats all that matters.

Also there is no pitting? That white stuff was compound that got splashed on there. Pic was right as I took it out of the shop too
