e55 pulley/tune vs stock Z06:who would win?
i'm on the fence about pulling the trigger on a pulley/tune combo(probably a 172mm) and i want to know how much of a difference it would make in a rolling start race against a Z06.right now i'm stock apart from a Brabus exhaust and got beat pretty easily by a Z06.
what do you guys think?anyone with hands on experience against a Z06 or a similar performing vehicle(997tt,f430...)?

i have a cl65 and c6 zo6. c6z is a cam+bolts makin 530rwhp that goes 10.8@131. cl65 last week did 11.1@125. suprisingly the were pretty even on the highway(60-160) with the benz getting the hit. my zo6 bone stock in june here in vegas +5000ft da trapped 123mph. their are other ones around the country that trap between 123-129 stock. from 60 i think you will get pulled. from a dig, maybe a good shot as the z is a ***** to launch

Might I ask what difference it makes? Are you sayin if it's not faster than a Z06 you won't go for it? Pulley and tune should net you 50-70whp. That is all that should matter and is a no brainer in my books

you would need more than a pulley and tune to take a c6 Z06. Add TB, headers, pulley, and a good (not mail order) tune, then go play. Have raced 5 of them.

so,in other words it's nearly impossible for the E to match the C6 Z06 with just a pulley+tune in a rolling race. Hmmm... i guess i will try to sell the E and get me a Z because i'm craving for a manual SO bad nowadays and i guess they don't come better than the Z06

it would have been nice if the E was able to compete with the same cars the 65tt competes with.I mean pulley+tune gives about 50-70whp which translates to 70-100 at the crank. so in theory it should be a 540-570hp car which is almost the same power/weight as the S/CL 65s. but i guess a v12 is not the same as a v8,especially at high speeds.

+1, perhaps a better comparison would be a 2010 Caddy V with the 554 HP V-8?? Sedan or Coupe?? I know he said Vette, BUT lets compare apples to apples??Or a 911 S Turbo with Sport Chrono against the C6 ZO-6? It wouldn't even be a comparison.

i smoke stock Z06 and even a tuned one from 0 - 250, coz no one perfects their launch control lol.
but from a roll say 70km, i pass them slowly untill my 4th gear is in and then they leave me behind.
but it is fun to smoke them at low speed.
