Thank goodness for extended warranties

Supercharger clutch and idler pulley just got replaced under warranty. Estimated repair was $2600.

I'll know my costs once it's done, but if it's anything like the last repair, I'll just owe shop fees....or pennies of the total repair.

Written by USAA. Covered by Assurant Solutions. As far as I know, you can't get it without getting your used car loan from USAA.

Turns out my total out of pocket is $123.70 or $21.40 in shop supplies and $102.30 in labor differences between what the hourly rate of the stealership is and the labor rate cap of $103/hr for my insurance company. Not bad for 9.3 hours of billed labor and $1800 worth of parts.

Edit - Looks like the s/c tensioner pulley also got replaced. Woot!

Wow, I did not know USAA had such a product. I have been insuring cars with them since the 70s and banking since they started offering it. I have never had anything less than top notch service from them.

They just started this in July. Apparently when they offered it to me, they had just started the program.

It appears I have the same problem, +100000 on that warranty. Its funny, before I got the warranty I'd have anxiety with noises coming from the ride. Now with the warranty, I really dont care. In fact, I'm looking forward to a shiny new ML loaner!

I only paid $3700 for my 3yr/36k warranty. I guess I may have set the standard? Doh!

I'd imagine I also got a discount since I purchased the car loan from them as well.

I'm in Houston and need this same repair. PM me if possible so we can discuss. Would like to know where you got the work done. My car is a CPO and they're telling me this isn't covered by my warranty.

USAA Mortgage through Assurant.

I financed an '04 E55 with 42000 miles with USAA this past September and was quoted the $3700 as well for the extended warranty. It covered Airmatic so I jumped on it. USAA is great with fantastic customer service.
