Read an interview with Michael Schumacher somewhere where he stated that anything over 800 HP was almost impossible to drive at the limit even for F1 guys like himself without computer aided traction and stability controls.
I once had the opportunity to drive an 1100 HP Lingenfelter twin turbo Vette built for the Texas Mile that was super scary. It was an automatic car that would break the tires loose at any speed with the slightest touch on the gas. The owner was scared ****less of the car and sold it. Don't blame him. It was a death trap.

From what i've heard the chute deployed but the wind blew it in the wrong direction that it got caught and the car started to flip when it was in the process of decelerating.
Wonder how much that UR kit cost to upgrade that engine? Guessing $100-150k alone?
I believe they are in the 125k range, depending on exactly what was done. People at the event were saying what a waste for $400k, so you figure new that thing would be around 250ish...that would leave 150 for the TT
If 2500hp pro mod cars struggle for traction with Goodyear D1490s

Can you imagine THAT thing on the street
Sure would be fun until you wiped it though!

He has more videos...including a the 210mph run and a 10.1 quartermile run on street tires
As far as a car being driven at the limit, there was a Pikes Peak Celica driven by Rod Millen back in the day that had well over 1000hp using that same basic 4 cylinder. That record still stands today for the pikes peak run. Definitely driven at the limit with no driver aids...
