Airmatic....WTF?????

I despise my airmatic. Why can't my car have the same stance on a daily...make that hourly basis? Does anyone else put up with this bull****? I have had the air suspension checked and tested, no leaks, no problems, no codes. Yet one minute my car is rocking the perfect stance, then it is notsomuch, and after that it is slammed and tucked..all without touching the elm or the factory settings. It is pissing me the **** off. Could my Renntech ELM be screwy or is this just the nature of the beast?

If you've had the car on the alignment rack and they went through the SDS protocol and the level sensors work, and no leaks, etc., then like Mikey says "it's the ELM."

The car should sit fine as long as you don't have a leak and/or the sensors work. At least mine does.......

ps., I'm at stock and not lowered.

I should state that the car is never sitting lopsided from side to side. It is only that the front and back will be sitting perfectly, and then a short time later they aren't, ie the back is sitting a little higher or the front is a tad lower, etc. No one else would notice this stuff, but it really bugs me. I think I am going to rip out my ELM and rewire it to see if that makes a difference.

Mine does this when I am parked on uneven grade. Once my front-right tire was on a grade roughly 3 inches higher than the rear and sure enough the front was noticeably slammed and the back was raised a bit. I think this is nature of the beast for stock cars, not sure about cars with ELM though.

I'd be a little circumspect here. These cars are sensitive (& sometimes temperamental) beasts. Suspect this is normal, just more noticeable with your lowered stance. Learnt a long time ago that some things are best left alone.

Screw it. Just slap some coils and get rid of the problem all together once and for all!

+1 on that as well. Mine does the same thing. One hour it will be down and tucked and the other it will be up an inch or so. Sometimes I swear it has the same ride height in comfort as it normally does in Sport 2 when I get out of the car. Other times it is riding higher like you would expect.

Seems like it's always been like this though so whatev. I just tell people my car and raise and lower at the touch of a button and they are impressed lol

I think because the E55 have the self leveling system, so sometimes when you park on un-even ground your wheel-gaps are out of whack.

To the OP, may be you can give Bruce a call and see if he can put together a coil-over set-up for our cars.

Flat as hell where I live. My car is pretty much on level ground 95% of the time.

Sometimes I feel like I a tripping in my car. You are sitting at a redlight and all the sudden you are looking through the Benz hood ornament (at the car in front of you) and see it moving either down or up. Feels really strange if you forget about airmatic. Must look weird to people checking out the car.

Can't imagine what it looks like for you ELM guys.

It's the automatic aim-ing option. The car zero-ing on the nex target.
