Just bought an 04 E55 AMG!
Just picked the car up last Thursday and man I'm impressed so far. The car has 57,000 miles and I paid 27,995 for it. I've had several sports cars (550 HP Mustang, Supercharged 350z, Nissan 300ZX Turbo, and a couple of others)in the past. This car is fast but I want to add a couple of bolt-ons. What are the first mods needed for my new ride? Any help would be appreciated. Only have 1 picture so far but I plan on taking some more tomorrow.

This site is a wonderful resource for our cars. Use the search feature and you'll find a wealth of information.
Your first mod should be the intercooler pump. I have 60k miles on my car and my pump was done. The pump will also be needed to support your future mods.

Enjoy your new ride. I bought a 2004 E55 last month. Great car. Did you geta warranty? Mine is a cpo and has needed some expensive repairs. Thankfully some were covered under the cpo warranty.

I bought the car from a reputable dealer and got an extended warranty for $2700. 72 month/125,000 mile warranty. Car only has 57,000 so I've got 68,000 miles left on the warranty or 72 months.

Do you have 72 more months??? that sounds like a great deal if so. I paid $2300 for an additional year of CPO coverage. So ultimately I got 100,000 miles or until Nov. 2012.

My mistake guys, warranty expires Dec 1, 2015 or at 125,000 miles. I bought the car from Carmax and bought the Maxcare extended service plan. It has a $300 deductible but I'm pretty sure its well worth it. The warranty doesn't cover oil changes and routine maintenance. The good thing about it is they send it to a Mercedes dealer for all repairs.

2012 E63 Bi Turbo
welcome to the 04 E55 clan.
my rocket has 180,000 k. Ive done 25000K this year and I love every time I get into the drivers seat.
only 1 speeding ticket that I managed to defend successfully.
nothing has exploded so far apart from the CPS.
enjoy.

2004 E55 AMG
Welcome! My car had 62k miles when I bought it a year and a half ago and will hit 100K miles this weekend. These are awesome cars, but things do break. So far I've replaced I/C pump(dead when I bought it), wheels(one cracked), both exhaust manifolds cracked, motor and tranny mounts, and most recently the CPS took a dump. All little stuff(and well-known) though, ESPECIALLY if you are the DIY type. Everyone says the drivetrains are pretty bulletproof, so aside from the usual culprits popping up now and again you should be very happy!
I didn't look to see where you're located, but I'll be happy to extend a helping hand to anyone in the Chicago area who needs help sorting out/diagnosing/fixing common issues.
