M5 Smack talk

Wow and i thought the C63 vs M3 battle was bad lol. Honestly from what i've seen and encountered(beaten plenty of M5's) an M5 will ALWAYS get beat by a E55 stock vs stock. It is amazing how fast E55 can become with less than 5k. The M guys should stay with their twisties stories and accept already which is the faster car in a straight line, the E.
But...I'm confused by this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Lg-z...eature=channel
Perhaps you can explain how a standard Mark I 997 Porsche Carrera S Cabrio held its own???

As much as I believe that you are wrong about the E55 vs. M5 (M5's top end at around 125 mph), I really the admire C63 AMG in general. Nice ride buddy. Sounds and drives very well.

This morning I heard an ad on the radio saying, " why do so many car manufacturers compare themselves to BMW?" It is simple, they are the bench mark for SLOW *** cars No wonder they don't have torque management problems, they don't make any TQ.

I've looked at the w211 e55 and e92 335 for way over a year prior to making a purchase. The two cars are in completely different leagues..its actually pretty comical to me now that I considered the e92 prior to the AMG. And I very well know what the 335i is capable of blah blah.
Funny that when I finally found the right e55, there was a new e92 sitting next to it in then lot, 6-speed too. I grinned and never looked back again.
As for the rest of the thread, its pretty awesome lol, and the rivalry will never end E55 ftw!

If I had $40k to spend on a brand new car, that's exactly what I'd purchase, because the bang for your buck/fit and finish is unparalleled. There's no comparable MB, and BMW would get [and did get] my money.
With that said, the E9X M3 is garbage, even compared to the 335. It's simply a $75k S2000. And that's with a Porsche Club Instructor Twisties Bias.
With that said, this E55/M5 argument is asinine. If a man or woman considering an M5 or E55 chose based on raw 1/4 mile time, I'd say that Darwin couldn't catch up with them fast enough. There are so many other more important things to factor in.

If they're biased againt Benzes, then how and why would the owners of such AMGs and Benzes LOSE intentionally? No excuse for failing I/C Pump for a N/A 6.2 Liter in a C63.
As for proof that these GTboard vids are NOT biased....

I'm suprised people still think this is a valid argument here. I thought it was pretty much known that the "modern" AMG's are faster in a line, M's are faster in the curvs.

Well...I have entertained myself for the past half hour laughing through this thread.
I had a fully modded 135 for the first year and enjoyed the little car. With all the bolt-ons it is quick in a straight line.
I never had the dreaded hpfp problem many had (some multiple times) but was allways worried when it would come to me. That BMW did not do twisties well...maybe with serious suspension upgrades it would have been better.
Well I dumped the 135 for a Porsche Cayman S with dfi and pdk...the twisties are big fun and the latest dfi is quicker than most think. While the P car is great fun on a road course I missed the TQ from the n54 and was able to talk my wife into the C63.
I now have a good stable imho...two totally different cars that makes me happy on different days depending on my mood. What I have learned from this thread is Maybe BMW akes a great suv in the x5m x6m....now that would be nice threesome...
