Safe to drive modded car without tune?

Hey guys. I will be installing my 180mm, H/E, Pump, and headers in the next couple weeks, but don't get a tune till the 6th of Jan. Is it safe to drive without a tune temporarily? Thanks guys.

I agree with emoving.
If you have to drive it, drive it like a grandma and stay out of boost!
This would be enough to scare me from hammering the motor

Is your car on stock factory tune? If so, you're ok. If your car already tuned, I wouldn't recommended.

You'll be fine, just no high R stuff.

Honestly, I really thought it was bad, but Sneakyneon had his car modded to the hilt and NEVER had it tuned. I thought it was insane but he was fine with A/Fs etc.

He just recently got his tune but man did he run a lot of mods without.

Incredible.

just don't race anybody...

I ran my 178mm pulley for 1 year without tune.. and the only thing that suffered was top end pull.

run very rich on AF and timing is pulled..

cool so I will get to experience highway 5th gear acceleration improvments for sure without a tune for the time being.

I ran a full Bolt-on car for a year with no tune it wasn't till I went from a 178 pulley to a 195 that I ran out of fuel. Now thats all fine and dandy but I also ran a stand alone engine monitoring with a warning alarm. Wide band, EGT, Boost,RPM. To me its common sense to have something to protect your investment.

You will be that guy crying like a little biach when you add the pulley and the engine blows. Then you will blame the tuning company yet you will leave out the fact that you ran the crap out of the car that way. So now I see where this all starts. Good luck to ya!

Thanks bro I won't push it at all when I have the mods. I'm not stupid. But will normal acceleration in 5th gear cruising be safe? Say half throttle in manual mode.

Its pretty easy, buy a cheap wideband and make sure you're under 12:1 or don't drive it.
