E63 Ash Tray Issue
Has anyone needed to replace the cigar lighter or replace the fuse that runs this little used device? I tried to use it to charge my iPhone and it never has worked. Now the little cigar lighter just sits in the hole and won't pop out. Just need to know what is involved to fix this before dragging the vehicle into the Stealer. Thanks.

I bought my car used, and that fuse was indeed out since it didn't work either. I couldn't for the life of me find the fuse, and the dealer wouldn't just tell me, so I had to drop it off. Funny enough, when I got it back, the horn didn't work. They also wouldn't tell me where that fuse was, so back to the dealer again for some tech to spend 15 minutes replacing that fuse that must have blown or been stolen while it was in the first time. So in short, I can't help you, but I can empathize.

Front SAM (left engine compartment): f53b should be horn, f54a lighter, and f54b lighter “always on” (all 15A).

Fun at the Stealer on New Year's Eve
All,
This turned into a comical event at the MB service department. I arrived promptly for my appointment to install the fuse. Problem was, they had no appointment time for me. The two car runners were wondering who I was and repeated several times that I was not on the list for an appointment. They just stood completely still like idiots and didn't try to suggest what in the world could be done.
After starting to raise hell, the service manager ended up changing out the fuse which is a number 15. He sent me running to the parts department to get the fuse. In parts, I got the fuse but they wanted to charge me for the $5.00 warranty item saying "well we need something to charge this to".
The parts manager followed me out to the service drive and proceeded to argue with the service manager about where to charge the $5.00 fuse. They finally decided to hit "shop supplies" for the fuse. The service manager proceeded to drop the fuse in the engine compartment and sent me running after the parts guy for another fuse. Finally, the fuse was replaced and the stupid thing is fixed.
This is just another example of how incompetent the Stealer can be. I was really mad and noted half way through this debacle that my service adviser was hiding from me. He did call me later to apologize and couldn't help but laugh at the situation with me, a**hole.
BTW, the fuse is not " always on" as noted in the post above. The ash tray cigar lighter only works when the key is turned on.
Nothing bad really happened other than a complete waste of time. It did bring back memories of the same Stealer scratching the hood of my 2007 E63 as result of insisting on a car wash that I requested not take place.
Murphy's Law at it's best.

I'm surprised that after all the grief the dealer caused you that you wouldn't at least share their name with the board.
