Looking to Paint all of my calipers - May I ask for your advice?

All,

I'm going to be doing my brakes soon and figured, while their in there, I'll ask Dyno-Comp to paint the calipers. I have a light gold E55, so my thoughts were paint the calipers the same color and paint the AMG logo black. (Basically repaint the black part.)

Could you recommend a particular paint type/brand and a particular process (Use clear coat or let them dry for a period of time?) I'd appreicate it.

Thanks as always.

Alex

Hey cool, if you beat the snot out of the it on a race track, the calipers will turn light gold. That would be funny if it matched.

Sorry to go OT right off the bat, carry on.

Actual color they change when volcano hot.

I use to own a subaru wrx STi ad the brembos on that car has a very crsip n distinct gold color. Check those out as a reference. I believe you can acutally buy the caliper paint from a suby dealership

I like the idea but I personally would choose a different color if it were my car. Post pics once they're done!

I would go with black to compliment your future graphite wheels!

Not too sure about finding that color but VHT makes a line of caliper paints which allegedly withstand up to 900F. Not sure how warm our calipers get but I've seen caliper paints rated at ~500F so I figured it wouldn't hurt to be extra certain.
You might also want to measure the AMG logo on the front and rear calipers so you can source the decals in those exact sizes

Clean the rotors, dry, spray 2 coats of color, apply AMG decals then do 2 light coats of VHT clear over it to seal it all in. Be sure to properly cover all non painted surfaces and probably even the fender as well.

To paint the calipers properly do they have to be completely removed? Or can one paint them will still mounted? (Obviously wheel taken off :P )

Thanks guys, great advice. And painting the calipers black with perhaps grey lettering for the AMG might be interesting if I move on the same wheels Emoving has but in 19's. I've got three colors here so want to get it just right. Gold (the color of my car, Grafite gray, color of the wheels, and the calipers...hmmmm..."

I could always go red like brembos but I'm actually not going for a bright, "Look at me" look but rather a more subtle....Daammmmmnnnnnnnnn that looks haught!
