Aggressive offset-ers, how low are you?

Im contemplating keeping the snow tires on the OEM wheels and running a more aggressive rim offset for my summer tires. However, I like my car low, really low. Ive already had rubbing issues on inclined turns with the front stockers. But I also know I dont need to be slammed with a more agressive offset to get the look I want.

So, those with experience, please post some pics, and or any advice?

And by aggressive offset, Im talking the 25/28 range

Haters crazy
Tbone has run a pretty aggressive setup with his HRE wheels, and slammed!

Whether you can run a +25 or +28 on the rear will depend on several factors: rim width, tire size, tire brand, how low you are, camber specs.

I run a +32 rear on 10.5" rim with a 265/30 tire. No way I can run a +28 with a standard-width tire (285/295). I run -2.5 degrees of camber. I've also had the rear fenders rolled and pulled. You may be able to run a +28 on the rear if you have a narrower rim (9.5 or 10"), for example.

On the front, I run a +19 on a 9.5" rim with 245 tire. Front fenders are shaved and pulled.

As far as how low I am, I tuck about half a tire sidewall

dang

ok

the rim widths are 8.5 and 9.5 respectively. And Im running stock width tires.

I think I might have to roll a little

edit:

Thats how low my rears were for awhile before I painted them blue. Its probably 1/2" higher now

What's stock width? 265? If you plan to run a +28 or +25 on a 9.5", you'd probably need to run a stretch tire. Also pick a tire with a more rounded sidewall like a Toyo. What look are you going for? Flush? Poke? A +25 rear may poke, I'm thinking. What you have going for you is the fact that you've raised your car back up a bit. You can get a way with a lot more if you don't roll slammed.

thanks, I'm on links + ELM.

to OP, if you're concerned about rubbing going up driveways, you will rub if you run aggressive offsets. Mercedes front fenders are not friendly for aggressive offsets, like BMW fenders are. You'll either have to slow down or drive into your driveway correctly (straight on or full-lock turn). Any turn in between will cause my tire to grab the front fender. I could probably avoid this by running a 235 tire up front, but didn't want to run too much of a stretch.

dang, thats hot.

Im just looking to fill out the arches a bit more, a tad beefier look - semi flush without a crazy stretched tire.

I have 245 up front, 265 in rear, and the rear 9.5 offset is 28, the 25 is for the fronts

edit: would a 1/2" wider rim really stretch out the tire? or just a slight stretch. This is my first experience besides the 245 snows on the rear 9"

That's a clean fender pull job. IF only I could get someone to do it that well here in Atlanta. Do you have uniform tire were with that amount of camber?

I have even tire wear because my toe is set to Zero. A really common misperception on various forums is that negative camber causes the inner tire wear. Improper toe will wear out tires way faster than moderately negative camber (up to about -3). The good news is that toe is easy to correct on these cars.

Much obliged for that info. Exactly what I needed to know for my upcoming alignment. Toe is easy to adjust (to zero) on stock components in the rear? That's super as i'm moderately dropped and still running 18's so hopefully no issues when i get her done.

Correct, toe is easy to set to zero, front and rear, on stock MB suspension components. No aftermarket kits are needed.

Awesome!!. I think I falsely concluded from the hype over the adjustable toe links that they weren't adjustable. thank you T-bone. Your fender pull with that slight tuck is to die for.

Tbone, I love the stance!
Nanayaw6, perfect performance in Roswell has an in ground drive on alignment rack that makes aligning slammed cars a breeze (prices and service are top notch too)

Highly suggest the in-ground alignment racks. The shop I use has the same.

car looks fantastic T-bone! just out of curiosity, im planning on running a 19x10.5 wheel with a +35, do you think I'll be able to get 275's tucked in the rear while being as low as you? Im debating on whether to go with more 10.5 with higher offest or a 10" wheel that can be sub 30's. Pulling/rolling fenders is not an issue I have a good amount of experience with a fender roller.

A +35 on 275's with a roll may work. If anything, you may need just a slight pull to get them to fit. Also depends on brand of tire you use.

A sub 30 offset may require a stretch tire fitment to get to fit properly on a 10.5 rim. Also, you may have poke if you're into that look. I'm not. Haven't seen a sub 30 offset on a 10 rim, but you do have extra room to play with there since your rim is not as wide

A little too late for me but I appreciate it. Got it done at America's best automotive on hwy 9 and I must say I'm happy with the outcome. everything is now perfect on my fronts and rear, except for a lil camber on the back which i'm now convinced nothing can he done about due to how low I'm riding.

What's so special about the alignment rack you guys speak of?
OT fasn8n r u gonna make it to commerce tomorrow?

Just makes it much easier to do the alignment since the techs are standing in a pit looking up into the car. Makes compenents more accessible. And if your car is dumped, you don't have to worry about scraping when driving up an alignment rack.

Seen, but the hunter my guys used goes high to the point where you just walk under the car unless u're 7ft tall and my **** self was there the whole time. Even had the front toe set with me in the car to verify it was dead centered.
I found it helps to know when the airmatic levels the car so adjustments are made when she's sitting steady. And of course I had to verify the aligned per amg values as opposed to steel springs setup
