The AMG Experience - Preliminary
Fellow AMG Owners,
The below list are some of the preliminary events, that Brian and I are working on this year, for The AMG Experience at Euromotorcars of Bethesda.
This is just preliminary list for right now, as we haven't received the formal blessing of the managment staff. As you can see from the list, we are planning one event every month.
AMG Events for 2011
1) March- Tech session on the new 5.5 Liter Bi-Turbo Engine.
This session will highlight the technical specifications for the engine and review the stop and start functionality of the new motors.
2) April - AMG Spring Event/Get together. Discuss the timelines for new product introductions and what is new for 2011 and beyond.
3) May - CLS 63 AMG Introduction
4) June - (DIY) Do it yourself tech event with technician discussing things that an owner can do himself. Overview of AMG specific servicing requirements and care.
5) July - SLS Roadster Introduction and overview of vehicle
6) August - C63 Coupe and sedan Introduction and overview of vehicle
7) September - Drag Day Sponsor at drag strip for AMG members.
8) October - Track Day for AMG club members/ AMG driving instructors tech overview of track based features
9) November- German Touring car championship day - discuss AMG’s involvement in racing and an overview of the SLS and C63 racing cars.
10) December - F1 year ending event to go over the F1 season.
I like what we have captured so far. So tell me what you think of our schedule?
Granted some of these events might drop off, so keep that in mind

#4 Would be awesome if you filmed and put up online somewhere, some very good information for people who can't make it:

For those of you that know me, they will tell you that I'm very passionate about AMG. Fella's, I'm working very hard at making this years events memorable. I just recieved a call from Brian at Euromotorcars. He had a meeting with Management today, they are really receptive to all the events that we're planning, except for drag racing. Theirs liability issue and insurance, etc. So we will probably change it to an autocross at Summit Point Raceway. No guarantees.... We have to figure out the cost for each of these events, and provide that to Management for approval. I'm working on getting my friend Steve, who happens to be the Training Manager for AMG North America to attend our first event in March, so that he can present the tech session on the M157 5.5 Bi-Turbo engine.

If your planning on attending any of these events, PM with your first and last name, so that you can be added to my email notification list for dates and times for these events. Also by this list we can gauge the participation and project numbers of attendees, for refreshments.

Dates haven't been established yet, as we haven't provided management cost data. They want pricing first, so they can say yah or nah. When, we have dates, I'll send an email out to the people on my distribution list, if your not on it, then you'll not get it. I would publish it in the forum, but we don't want 100 people showing up uninvited, that we weren't prepared for. I talked to Brian about door prizes and raffles, he's onboard with that. The last time we had people off the street show up, and that was fine, but as we make more progress on this, I will re-engage my thought process to open it up or not. I'll have to get Brian's view on this. As far as filming video, I have a YouTube account. If the dealership allows me to film then I will. I have no video editing equipment, so it will be raw. Some stuff might be proprietary, so I might not be able to capture it i.e 5.5 Bi-Turbo tech session

The Euromotorcars General Manager asked me, if I needed any cars. And I ask him what do you have, he brought out a SL 63 AMG, SL 65 Black Series and a SLS AMG. Then he asked me, do I need anything else. And I said this is plenty, I didn't want to be greedy, this being our first event and all.

Nope, I don't think so as the SLR is no longer in production. The only way, would be if someone traded their SLR in. And they just happen to have it availiable during one of the events then yes, but highly doubtful. You should start something similar in your area, start small but think big. Locate the closest AMG Performance Center near you, and start networking to set up an event.

start something? you mean an AMG Experience kinda thing? theres something similar but its not AMG, nor Mercedes really. its basically a club for custom and high end cars. plus, i think im the only AMG in my town within at least 30 miles. southern IL is nothing because of the lack of people.

I'm sure that their is probably something in Chi-Town. Well, I wish you luck. Maybe you can give a shoot out for AMG in Southern, IL
Start a thread in both MBWorld and AMG Private Lounge asking for participation for a meet and greet event. You have to start somewhere.

How many of you would be interested in watching a Formula One race at Euromotorcars on a Sunday at 8 am? The reason that I ask, is because it's one of our events for this years events calender? Besides that dealership would sponsor it with food and beverages.
