Autobody recommendation in the Bay Area

I would like to get the front license plate on my front bumper removed and the holes covered / painted to match the rest. Does anyone have a good body shop they can refer me to? Also was wondering what the ball park cost of a job like this would be.

Thanks

Doug Carpenter 408-243-8778.

Did the work on my bumper and matched perfect.

One thing to note. With the passing of certain environmental laws in CA, they had to move away from the "good stuff" to water based paints. That may mean you need to get the whole bumper done to look right.

The good news is, you can still get your furniture re-finished with stuff that puts out all sorts of hydrocarbons. CA drives me nuts.

seriously CA is run by a bunch of ****-hippies! The water based PPG stuff that almost all body shops use isn't nearly as good as the old style paint.

Apex autobody and VHD autobody in San Jose, CA both do excellent work as well.

^^^ Personally I would just pay a a few hundred $$$ and get the work done for the cleaner look but those don't look too bad. for $25 even if you didnt like the end result it wouldn't kill your wallet lol.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll definitely give them a call. Also could you tell me what the ballpark cost of this job would be?

depending on how much work is involved (condition of your current bumper) in getting it prepped/paint etc...I would say anywhere from $350 - $800 depending on where you decide to go.

FWIW when I had my STi's front bumper repainted it cost around $400 total.

Great. Thanks for the response. I'll get a quote from those places you guys have suggested. This forum is such a great resource. I actually used "BaldMike73" suggestion when I needed a good place to get my car lowered via Star. Thanks for that!
