m3 destruction

So, only have had the e55 for about a week now. Got my first kill. Went from a dig twice to about 80mph the first time. 2nd time got it up to 100mph. I had a passenger with me and he had an 2 passengers with him. I murdered his car after 20mph both times till we shut it down. Easy car length on him. I know both cars are pretty easily matched so for that result the extra passenger weight must of got him and/or he didn't know how to drive lol. Anyway I got one of these from him Fun stuff.

your wrong -- those cars are not even close --- you will murder a M3 everytime -- you can have 5 passengers and luggage -- it wouldnt make a difference.

You are probably mistaking the M3 for an M5 -- an M5 is a good match and very comparable.

Yeah it looked like the 2009 m3. It was 4-door and definately an m3. Guysandiego, look up the specs for the 2009 m3 sedan. The 1/4 mile times and the 0-60 are almost identical for the e55 kompressor.

They can do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds? Ive ran a few of the e90 m3's from a dig before and it was a blood bath.

Nice kill though.. Go pick on someone your own size.

Errrm no......the E55 has done 11.7s on street tyres stock. The E55 would obliterate a new M3 everytime, the M5 is closer but it's also slower. Mod the E55 and an M3 would be a laughable opponent. BMW are great but when it comes to outright straight line speed an E55 is a problem, once modded and because they're easier to get power out of you can't compare. BMW is good for handling but luxury and speed is where Mercedes shines.

By the way Motortrend is so stupid when it comes to figures, it's like they can't drive the cars or launch them. They give these stupid 1/4 mile times for alot of cars which are like .3-.5sec off.

Nice kill, I suppose. But the M3 is certainly bringing a knife to a gun fight. Also, maybe I'm in the minority, but when does 1 car length constitute "murdering"?

I guess your right, murdering sounded like a cool verb to use though haha. It would of been though if I kept on it, that guy was not pulling at all.

The E9X M3's just dont have the tq and hp that the E55 has--- but they do have something that assists in their tq and hp deficiency; the DCT tranny which helps make up the distance in 60-130 runs. The efficiency of the tranny coupled with its speed shifts are amazing. But the E55 should prevail in even conditions.

If you are racing a 6 speed E9X M3 it will be easier.

I owned an E92 M3 that dynod at 408 at the wheels on a DD and it would slowly pull my buddies W211 2007 E63 from a run. My M3 was modded though and in stock format the E63 would pull slightly.

The majority of 55s out there are not even close to running 11.7 in the 1/4 mile.. Every car is different, so there numbers are never going to be perfect.

Yeah, I'd say a 12.1-12.3 would be average(on a decent day), and that's on a track with decent traction. On the street, depending on the surface, even that could go up considerably. If traction is an issue and the M3 is trapping 113, it should be awfully close. In this case it was 1 car length to 100 MPH, which is honestly not much.

Iv gone to the track with 3 bone stock e55s and we were all trapping 112-113.this is on numerous days taking the cars to the track.

My best run bone stock with drag radials was 12.40@114

Please show me a stock e55 with stock tune and street tires running 11.7.

I know it's all variable, there's no guarantee of high 11s however the E55 is without a doubt faster than the M3 and by quite a bit. The E60 M5 struggles with the E55 and in a straight line the M5 eats the M3. On the twisties sadly however the E55 is molested!

I know hammer down holds the quickest stock + drag radial time of 11.701 @ 121mph. I think I remember him stating in another thread someone named Enzom holds the street tire record at 11.77. very impressive time, but again many factors play a role hitting sub 12 sec passes.

I guess I just dont understand how guys who are "stock" are trapping 121?? I mean my best 60' is 1.79 and I only was able to do 114.. 7 mph faster is quite impressive, so how is it done?

thats because its at a track that is known to not read the speed right.Minus 4-5mph from any car that runs at SAC raceway

4-5mph may be a stretch....back in 2007 my first time at Sac I ran a few 12.2@117+ with a high trap of 117.7 on street tires.

I believe Motortrend does not deduct for rollout that C&D or R&T does, making their times "slower."

Well me and my brother both have e55s and we took them to the dyno and both made 400whp and trapped 112-113 at the dragway, andrew is stock and trapping 113.

I added 80whp and trapping 122.you trapped what I trapped with all my mods lol.im not taking anything away from your et but im getting sick of people using your trap that e55s trap 117-121 stock, they simply don't come close to that.
