Fast & Furious is a bad influence!
My girlfriend and I watched the F&F5 late session last night. When the movie finished I told her that I had the urge to drive fast.. she said me too, lets go for a drive. So we did..
So we're driving on the freeway, heading for the mountains, hitting high speeds at about 2 or 3am with almost zero traffic. We stop in the mountains and take in the view, before I ask her if she wants to drive back.. with no hesitation she says yes! I have no problems and get into the passenger seat.
No more than 5 minutes later when the road flattens out and she puts her foot down.. *sirens*
She got pulled up for doing 150km/h in a 110 zone. I'm not sure how, but lets just say we were happy with this She was lucky because only 5km/h higher and it's instant loss of license.
I felt terrible though because I have done the trip many many times myself and have never had any problems. Never lost a point off my license since I got it 5 years ago. This was her first time and gets pulled over almost instantly, after my encouragement. But she told me she's glad it happened, because from now she will always obey the road rules. I will pay the fine, but she has to take the points
Kids, don't go driving straight after watching F&F or Top Gear

Nothing to do with F & F for me...but my car seems to be a cop MAGNET here in Kingwood, TX. I've been pulled over three times in the last 2 weeks for no front plate, then just last night I got a ticket for going 50 in a 40. I'm accepting of tickets, but I was going with the flow of traffic in between two cars.

2005 E55,172 pulley, H/E, shorty headers. 1985 280sl euro
Nobody drives my E. Just sayin. My girlfriend has never even asked. When I got back from Jerry @ Eurocharged I took her for the ride of her life (pun intended) and I think it scared her.
My eldest son, soon to be 25 has hinted but hasn't outright asked. I will let him now that he is out of school, has a job and has his own insurance.
When I'm not driving the E I lock my keys in my safe because my 16 yo son is still at home and is just like me. I remember stealing my dads keys and taking out his 450slc when I was his age. Took it to 135 then it started to overheat. Neighbor saw me pulling back into the drive and I was busted the next morning. Ahhhh childhood lessons

Is the new F&F any good? I remember the 5 minute 1/4 mile races in the first one.
Glad to hear no one lost their license.
I let my girlfriend drive back down the canyons 2 days, luckily for me she is very cautious when she drives, especially my car. She does occasionally goose it on straight roads for a second or two, haha.

I will date myself.
After seeing the initial release of "Top Gun", "I had a need, a need for speed".
Took the RE71-R off my MR2 and put them on my girl firends Corolla.
I was driving and we were taking a clover leaf hard. I told her to stick her head out the window and look out at the rear tire.
"Holy *****, it's 6 inches off the ground".
Some of the best I got that night.!!!

Ok so first off what a great movie it was !!!!! I went with over 20 of my friends and we all loved it. Great story line with serious action. I will have to agree with the movie giving you a desire to race. We watched a late movie and we all got on the hway around 2 am, c63, 335z, g37 etc and we all blasted off on a nothing but empty highway lol. Guys who normally domt race or drive fast like last night did so !!! So most def has an impact on people greatly.

Unbelievably it may be a good movie, rotten tomatoes gave it 79% ! http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/fast_five/

It was a pretty good movie.
As for not letting your loved ones drive your E, share the joy it brings you. My girlfriend drives mine to work and back everyday, and she says it makes her feel like a baller. It truly is the little things in life!

A Prius because I'm green
I watched the midnight showing Thursday night and there were ricers trying to drift in the parking lot. Not sure how anyone didn't get hit but there were cops at the exits to make sure they behaved once they got onto public roads.
Did anyone stay for after the credits to see the short Eva Mendes clip?
Who noticed the AE Perfomance shirt?

after seeing all 5....this latest one is easily the best. Great story and best of all I don't recall a single riced out car in the whole movie. Pantera's, GT40, GT3 RS, and the fisrt gen SKYLINE! What's not too love? Those new chargers looked pretty badass as well.
only pitfall was the seemingly trend of ricers driving like douchebags after it was over...and I spotted an APC sticker that kinda made my night hahaha

the black widebody one right? That and the matte black chargers were badass! I usually don't even like the new challengers but I must agree that one definatley got a yes in my book.

Just got back from it and all I could think was "how long did it take to set up for all of those ridiculous shots during the action sequences". Even if I thought some parts were a bit weak, the cinematography blew me away. And the Chargers were awesome! Going in to watch it I wanted to hate it, but I came away actually wanting to see it again. If you're thinking about waiting until it's out on video, don't. Go see it at the theatre so you don't miss out on any of the sound!

That's actually the only Challenger that I have seen that I like, as far as the new body style. It looked like a muscle car, or at least a car that meant business. The Chargers looked good as well, I want to know where I can get some tires that can handle that type of punishment and then make for a smooth ride off into the distance!
